Too Long? Too Slack? Not Enough? – Pinkbike Poll
Had a 6" 2008 Specialized Enduro and hated it- hated every single ride on that thing, while all the mags and blogs were spooging all over themselves about it. Haven't bought a 'new' bike since....

Keep in mind that the 'DH' bikes that made the brand were under 4" of rear travel. Most people wouldn't even call that XC now unless it was 29"! Those first Burners and Stingers made *everyone* who rode them 'All Mountain' riders, which is what made them famous. Put a normal rider on a modern DH bike(?), he ain't headed to the trails, that's for sure... If you want to cry 'marketing ploy', the original DHR is your target. Any niche is a marketing ploy, but it's when the product transcends its market to find a more universal acclaim and usage that the phrase 'classic' comes into use- for instance; "Did the Turner Rail begat 'slopestyle'?

@chasejj: +1 on the 'DT Dream Bike'. Maybe as a '30th Anniversary Special'? :)

Totally different psychology. If you could spend your life just messing around with bikes wouldn't you want to? There are people like Dave, Tom Teesdale, 'Frank the Welder', etc. who do quite nicely as independents, with a type of freedom they'd never have inside the Giant/Speck machine.

Materials Science is real, and that affects design, but yeah, 80% of it is just marketing bs.

It's a general biker thing-not just SoCal. My Daughter tells me it's to hide your 'helmet hair'. :D

Must be something in the name "Turner", between both Paul and Dave we've got six frames and four forks! BUT....none of that DW nonsense for me, thanks. :P

Magura lever bushing kit 0721994

$19 USD
Here it is, the infamous Magura 0721994 lever pivot kit that Magura USA says is unobtainable. If you have a pre-2008 Marta you can't use because of these tiny %$^#@$# pieces of plastic I've got you covered. Just had these shipped in from Germany, so they weren't cheap, but I bought a few extras to keep the shipping reasonable and spread the joy. I think they fit some other Magura brakes, but I was only looking for a set for my Marta SL's. Brand new in the package- Magura originals. $19
