you know the course is big and gnarly when sam pilgrim has to put on a full face!
  • 5 2
why 7th is good, yes he is better in other aspects of the fmb tour but he still killed it

  • 6 1
Walmart's bicycle sales nearly tripled after Cam took 2nd on his! I'm heading to Walmart to pick mine up first thing in the morning..
  • 3 0
i don't understand how the did the scoring. If you look at the sheet, Sorge should of been 4th!
  • 1 0
i don´t understand too. i think that judges could give to rider in 4 categories worth 25 points each.
arithmetic mean also doesn´t fit.
  • 52 0
when i saw the top picture i thot brandon only got 17th and i was like what!?!??!?!??!?!
  • 7 0
Yeah I was reading through it thinking there is NO way in hell Zink/Semenuk were that low down, then I scrolled down!!

I really don't see how Pilgrim can ride a hardtail down this kind of course....
  • 4 0
 he didnt
  • 1 0
he rode ns soda slopestyle. cmiiw. with not really big travel on the rear..
  • 2 0
Yep, is sponsors don't make a big travel bike, so don't think he had much choice.
Although he a tough Manchester lad so I doubt he would have ridden a big rig anyway.Wink
  • 1 0
I think you mean Colchester mate. I've never heard a Manc who talks like Pilgrim. He's the stereotypical Essex boy (drives a white van - albeit a Mercedes, rave music blaring...) Probably wears bling and sells speakers from his van when he's not FMB touring. Top lad.
  • 1 0
 lol, you're right. My bad.
Don't know who the hell I was thinking of?
  • 29 2
Good to see Kyle Strait up there.
  • 11 4
Not good to see his bike, though. Christ that GT is ugly.
  • 1 0
@assfault sincerely disagree. I love the fury and the ruckus! Have you actually ridden one? on a mountain? OK then.
  • 1 0
dude that bike is ugly. Props to Strait though, always stoked to see him podium.
  • 29 1
 WTF happened with Aggy?
  • 4 1
 he crashed
  • 1 1
 He broke his pedal..

Healing vibes for Aggys pedal ~~~~~~~~~
  • 10 1
I thought Aggy would have a good shot at this one, shame. He's still the rider that has impressed me most this year (for his video parts, not competition)
  • 1 0
I think they should have just postponed the event really, because we all know that a fair few of those riders could do more. But I didn't organise it, and it'd probably be a lot harder to postpone than I think :L
  • 27 3
On the top picture it says sam pilgrim USA ?
  • 8 1
I was just about to question that as well, quite the conundrum. no mater looked like such a sick event cant wait for some videos
  • 3 2
Considering the extensive Sam Pilgrim debate on the previous coverage of this event, that's a bad mistake to make...how can you get that wrong? I mean just listen to his accent
  • 40 2
OK then we will stop posting so you can get back to your work in the refugee camp saving the lifes of starving children...
  • 11 2
JesusChrist, I thought you should know who everyone is? Anyway sam pilgrim is a big name and a good rider.
  • 6 4
I have no idea who "Scott" Pilgrim is that you are talking about. But perhaps you mean Sam Pilgrim, and maybe before you post you get with the program instead of going off the deep-end!
  • 9 1
Jesus is here everybody! Looks like he wants the moral highground. And its Sam Pilgrim, I thought the son of god would know better.
  • 16 8
 jesus is a knob

  • 7 6
 Hey! Who negpropped Jesus Christ?
  • 2 4
JesusChrist, dude, chill. And if it frustrates you so much, take it easy. Btw Scott pilgrim? You should probably get with the program before posting
  • 9 2
guys, seriously? can you not tell that the Jesus guy is a troll? he made the account just to troll people with...

 That confused me too haha

"Scott Pilgrim" is that guy from the movie scott pilgrim vs the world. Sam Pilgrim is that awesome guy on a bike
  • 3 0
It also says that Tyler McCaul is from Canada
  • 19 3
Did Pilgrim get 7th? If so what was all that horrible 'Sam hating' boll*cks all about yesterday? Well done everybody!!!!
  • 3 3
haters gonna hate man... never gonna change

I'm just bummed they weren't able to do a finals (they used qualifying scores because of bad weather)
  • 1 0
Yea I'm sure zink would've stepped it up!
  • 14 3
Um think Pilgrim held his own. Some people could be eating there own words me thinks after giveing him no hope in coming anywere,7th is very respectfull.
  • 10 0
Haha I thought the first photo was the results, I was thinking da hell!
  • 1 0
 lol
  • 10 0
It's been a while since i've seen Kyle Strait on a podium, props to him..!
  • 2 1
Great job Kyle..... 1st at Sea Otter Dual and great finish here.
  • 1 1
I think Strait won a big event @ Highland last year, IIRC. Regardless, it's great seeing him on the podium for sure!
  • 3 0
Suspect reporting, particularly the country of origin - Kurt Sorge from New Zealand? Thought he was canadian. Also, was Mike Hopkins actually in the event? He's in a caption...
Congrats to Dylan though!
  • 2 0
he is canadian, read somewere he is from nelson BC...lots of huge typos in there. T-mac isnt canadian either he's from the States and Sam Pilgrim is from the UK
  • 2 0
@Idhbaker that picture is actually of Andrew Taylor, not Mike Hopkins.
  • 1 2
Yea Sorge from Nelson BC. McGarry from Nelson, New Zealand. Someone thought there was only allowed to be one nelson in the world
  • 1 0
I was wondering why they were saying Hopkins was there...
  • 2 0
Andrew Taylor has been fixed, as for the photo with rider countries all messed up - we can't help that one.
  • 2 0
Holy crap! Has anyone seen the end of Cam Zink's 2nd place run? One foot flip that was almost a crash? He landed in the most crazy death wobble and crosses the finish with his nutsack on the top tube! Vital has the top 3 runs' videos posted. www.vitalmtb.com/news/news/2012-Chatel-Mountain-Style-Results,484
  • 7 1
 Semenuk is THE man !!!
  • 5 0
Yeah !! Nice Brandon ! Smile
  • 6 5
dont get me wrong, im a huge fan of sam pilgrim but he is far to arrogant! On a course like this, large travel bikes are required! So why is he using an ns soda with at most 160 on the front? Its no coincidence that the top three are all running dual crowns either, and thats why sam pilgrim will never win a big mountain competition; because he only practises on straight dirt jumps or in the skatepark
  • 5 3
NS also has a freeride frame and you see a lot of riders not using dual crowns even at rampage. Maybe he is just used to single crown and 7th is a good score at this event.
  • 3 2
yeah they do and im not saying that 7th is bad! But do the guys using single crowns win? They didnt at the last one cus cam zink used boxxers, and gee atherton and bearclaw both used fox 40's... yeah maybe he is used to it, but he says he thins hes got a good chance at winning; well not when he is using a bike like this on a course like this? To win, he will have to ride at rampage, and if he rides rampage on that, then he will snap in half, along with his bike
  • 2 1
Zink won this event in 09 on a corsair konig slope bike
  • 1 3
was the course as harsh and rocky as this one though? I think the point is that sam pilgrim is not good enough on the bigger bike, not good enough to win the fmb
  • 1 1
maybe but if he isn' used to dual crowns it won't matter because he won't be able to control it ...
  • 2 1
thats the point im making though... if he cant control a full downhill bike the he shouldnt be riding the fmb tour, because two of the biggest point scoring events (this and rampage) require the use of the bigger bike
  • 1 1
and theres also a hell of a lot of smaller events which only require a dj or slope bike and they still rack up points and keep the money rolling in for him. sam reynolds doesnt stand out to me as someone who can ride big, but pilgrim is comfortable, give him time and give him a chance seeing as ns dont do anything bigger than the soda. ( my bad if hes riding the soda slope i cant really see)
  • 3 1
He came 7th and youre saying he shouldnt be riding the event? Thats ridiculous. Obviously by getting 7th place he has proved that he didnt need a massive DH rig to ride the course. I bet he pulled some amazing tricks too. Sure, his speciality is dirt jumping but I think hes proved hes can hold his own on courses like this. 7th place against the best in the world. Yeah, well crap.
  • 1 1
Im not saying that 7th is rubbish, 7th is far better than you or i could ever achieve so good on him. But jm saying if hes going to win it against the likes of semenuk and zink, then he needs to becomw more fluent on a bigger bike
  • 1 0
he actually stays in the same level of riding he's been doing all year, 7th in a gold event is the same points as 1st in a silver event
  • 1 0
dude he backflip tabled the last jump ... i say he stays with single crown
  • 3 0
The picture of Cam Zink doing his signature spin is just like oh thats cool. then you realize how big it is and that hes backwards and your like wait. WHAT!!! respect.
  • 4 0
Headline says final results , lead pic is the starting order. That's proper journalism. Does anyone care?
  • 1 0
LOL, I was wondering the same thing about the first picture. Thought they were results and Semenuk didn't place. Hardly so, the dude is slick! Props to all the riders for shredding what is got to be one of the gnarliest courses around! Love it!
  • 4 0
Hey what about Nico Vink, WC racer just styling it into 6th place, beat a lot of "slopestylers" too...
  • 2 0
Yeps indeed, anyone have some pictures or movies of Nico shreddin'? Nico has a lot of style and a lot of airtime!!!
  • 1 0
You can't win the overall without winning at least one of rampage and crankworx. Ergo, Pilgrim must practice on bigger stuff for a year or two if he is to have a chance. HE's got the skill and the balls, he just needs more experience
  • 1 0
Another thing. Pilgrim is the best dirt jumper but unfortunately for him it's rampage and crankworx that offer the big points. I totally agree, crankworx in particular is unreal to watch. However, if the organisers decided to stack it in favour of dj he'd already be the champ. AT mountain style he would have been on the podium if it ran its course. Only semenuk and zink are better at that stuff
  • 1 0
After watching the videos of the top 3 runs I was not impressed, yeah everything is big and props to the riders for hitting some of that stuff, but from the coverage I saw the event just didn't do it for me, maybe it was the fact that the coverage was so bad or maybe it was the rain that kept the riders from reaching there potential,.....def looking forward to Crankworx this weekend BTW, that wasn't Mike Hopkins in the pic, it was Gary Fisher
  • 3 0
Its lookin good for Semenuk to be the FMB King again!! I cant wait to see what happens at RedBull!
  • 3 0
all three on the podium running rock shox suspension, avid brakes and xo gearing! coincidence?
  • 3 0
 No...
  • 3 1
 Yes...
  • 1 0
it's like there's a big fisted dirt troll wanting to pull you off your bike mid-air and eat you so you throw a crash pad on top of him- but he's still there under it ... waiting... for ..... you..... to fail
  • 4 0
 wheres the video????
  • 1 0
Anywhere to watch the reply of this event?
  • 2 0
Settle down guys. It often takes at least a few days for an event video to be released, nevermind a few hours. Secondly, the event wasn't broadcasted live so there will be no full replay.
  • 2 0
Go on to Vitalmtb. Top 3 runs are posted there.
  • 3 0
Sam pilgrim is a Brit, not a yank!
  • 2 0
the editors who make these sections latley really need to look through what there typing. yer made them sound like a pirate
  • 3 1

  • 3 0
Fuck Aggys Pedal and can someone give Kelly a Place on the Podium !!!
  • 2 0
people act surprised that he won lol. hes not gonna lose a single contest this year garunteed
  • 2 0
Nice to see Strait and Mcgarry in the top five.
  • 2 1
poored down rain all night, so sick sam rode a slopestyle on that course! so ghetto!
  • 3 0
How is that considered to be "ghetto"?
  • 1 0
Gnar is the word I think you were looking for. Mad respect. And I am sure he would have ridden a bigger bike if his sponsors made one.
  • 1 0
cause, when i asked him in march what bikes hes gonna be riding for rampage and chatel i said "as ghetto as possible, iff possible my hardtail" Wink
  • 1 0
You and Sam are both retarded then.
  • 2 0
GREAT JOB TO DYLAN SHERRARD!!!! Kamloops boy rippin it upp!

 Aggy is such a boss

Where the videos at! I was looking forward to some sick ass films to watch but I've got photos!
  • 2 0
yep nice one, pilgrim is british
  • 1 0
eugh? the event didn't happen, it was cancelled due to rain/wind... are these the qualifying results?
  • 1 0
If you look at the results it says 7th July, which was yesterday. So they just used qualifying results....
  • 2 0
yeah i went over this morning and nothing was there
  • 6 0
Bit weird they didn't mention it at all in the report....
  • 5 6
i hate to see Zink with a bike like that, i know he can shred in any bike, but dude, why a big bike company doesn't what to hire him ?
anyway, sick event, props to the rider, they're all my heros !
  • 3 0
 Ya Dylan!!!!!
  • 2 0
Wasn't this shown live last year?
  • 1 0
no it was not shown live, Devon Balet did the coverage last year
  • 1 0
Strange, because I remember seeing this stuff live. Guess it was very through video coverage, lol
  • 1 1
Devon and I were both putting out edits each day of the event. Lots of coverage from it last year. Im sure weather factored into the less coverage this year as there was less riding by most riders
  • 2 1
Way to go Kyle, can be on the box at racing or a freeride event...props to all...
  • 3 0
 Yeh Kelly !
  • 2 0
 YOOOOOWWWWW
  • 3 1
Why did they cancel the final run for no reason?
  • 2 3
Idiot. The finals were clearly canceled due to weather.
  • 2 1
Calm down! Sam Pilgrim put on his Facebook page that they cancelled the finals for no reason what so ever!
  • 1 2
I apologize for my initial harshness. However, it is clear that the finals were cancelled due to poor weather, which is certainly a legitimate reason.
  • 2 0
Well I'm sorry! I heard that they were cancelled for no reason so I was just trying to find out! Idiot!
  • 1 0
It's alright, no apology necessary. Fair enough, but your original comment came off as derogatory and arrogant to me, but whatevs, maybe it was just me. Haha, though I don't quite understand why I'm being called an idiot, maybe d-bag would fit better.
  • 2 0
Hopkins wasnt here... definitely not him in the picture
  • 2 0
Kurt Sorge is from New Zealand now? Seems legit.
  • 4 0
yea ill take that too, and how bout McGazza, top work.

  • 1 0

  • 1 0
I figured. Bummer, I was stoked to see what went down in finals.
