Classics: Brian Anderson "Welcome to Hell" Here's where the world was introduced to the skating and legendary style of BA. Truman Hooker introduces a classic part from the 1996 Toy Machine video.
Classics: Brian Anderson "Yeah, Right!" If you're ever in a long-winded, skate nerd debate about "good style" and BA's name doesn't come up, that means you're talking to kooks. Corey Duffel introduces a true classic from 2003.
Brian Anderson on Being a Gay Professional Skateboarder: BA is the man.
That Dakota Roche video! There's no riding style which is nearly as creative as street riding. How he uses stuff that are not at all designed to be ridden, and finds and rides such amazing creative lines. Street riding is using your creativity to make your city become your playground. It's beautiful to watch.
Big Col's work provokes and inspires! I think is inspirational, both in editing and videography in particular, in addition to having nice riding. There is such vision and self-actualization that happens in those videos. 'Mountain bike trials' isn't really an actual discipline in the bike world but that its about time it became one. It has its own distinctive style to it, which is totally different to the fast-paced all-mountain, or enduro style riding, and heavy-hitting freeride mountain biking which is done on very similar bikes. Those disciplines of mountain biking have rapidly accepted the most buff and man-made bicycle-specific trails as the place for bikes. And while building trails, and riding bike parks or other man-made trails is fun and exciting, it is totally artificial - even if it has become the norm. There is a difference between using a technology to interact with nature and using a technology to interact with another technology. We can't forget the importance of this type of riding as the genuine, original and quintessential part of the sport. I feel bad for those who think they are mountain biking that have never touched an actual mountain.
As a 40yo who still rides BMX (poorly) nothing compares of the skills and pure talent of today's riders. Cheers PB for putting some great vids up today.
Good one Johannes Pistrol for riding that mountain in Austria, but not my thing. I admire his guts and skill, but it just seems like it would be a tedious chore rather than a fun ride. But I guess we're all motivated by different things.
I dont get why in the Dan Foley vid he feels guilty for breaking the rules when most of the skaters aren't wearing the required safety gear. Skate parks ain't just for skaters.
Haha, I still have a vhs copy of Welcome to Hell! Classic, grarly crash segment though. Which is an important part that should be in most videos, let's us mortals realize what happens when you don't land something that big
We are all TOO P.C. now. FEAR to express if it alienates. WE all came out of a woman. BEST quote... "MORE PUSSY FOR ME!!!!" Hate, Threaten... f*ck off.... oh yeah... AND... ALL LIVES MATTER
FREERIDING IS DEAD?
WTF! why didn't anyone tell me?
