The Mountains Always Win

Well the day has come, the mountains finally claimed me as their victim. Took a pretty hard fall, coming off my downhill bike and over the handle bars. Took the impact with my right hand, arm, shoulder and hip. My initial reaction was to shake it off and continue my ride, little discomfort was felt. I opted to take a final lap, again no pain or discomfort was felt. Upon reaching my Jeep is when I noticed something wasn't quite right. While trying to lift my 35lb bike over my head to place it on my roof rack searing pain almost dropped me and my bike to my knees. After securing the bike I drove immediately to the local clinic to get Xrays, and the bad news. The good news is that there doesn't appear to be any ligament damage, the bad news is that it's a avulsion fracture stemming from a dislocation as I fell.
I'm down out for a least six weeks which sucks, but at least I should be riding when the leaves start to change.
