2017 Stevie Smith Memorial Cup - Mount Washington

PRESS RELEASE: Mount Washington Bike Park and the Dunbar Summer Series

Mount Washington Bike Park and the Dunbar Summer Series are honoured to host the return of Steve Smith Memorial BC Cup Finals. This event, set the weekend after Worlds and supported by both Dunbar and Corsa Cycles, is going to be one of a kind for a Cycling BC, BC Cup Final. Hosted by Brett Tippie, and with many of Stevie's friends and competitors already confirmed, look for this event to be one of the best-attended races in recent memory.

The Dunbar Summer Series is sanctioned by Cycling BC and part of the BC Cup Downhill Series of events...

I really enjoyed being a part of the Stevie Smith Memorial race. It brought back a lot of memories of the time Steve and I spent at Mt Washington... this was where it all started for him! To be able to share, a part of Steve, with the young and upcoming riders was very therapeutic. Looking into the eyes of these young boys, with their enthusiasm and awe at being able to touch his medals and jerseys, made me see that I do need to keep Steve's memory alive so he can continue to inspire young riders. I hope to see even more racers out in 2018 to make this event a must-attend for Stevie's fans old and new!—Tianna Smith

Steve is, and forever will be, a role model to so many of us. He pushed so many of us to be the best we could be in every aspect of life; whether it was on the track or just being a good person.
