Specialized Cuts Global Ambassador Program
@mtmc99: If you've ever truly been self-employed, you'll think different about things like this. I have been on my own for 25 years now. Never know where and when the next job and check will come in. So I have to hussle my ass off to keep my lifestyle intact. Those ambassadors were self employed. They weren't salaried employees of Specialized I don't think? Not like say, a marketing pro in the office 40 a week. So they had a contract, and all contracts can end even before they are due. So while I feel a touch of sympathy, I was more surprised that there are people who are riding their free bikes in killer locations and getting paid for it. $1500/mo isn't alot of money anymore, but still. That said, the comments I read by most of them were very respectfull I think. They weren't slamming anyone, just saying how bummed they are that it's over. I hate whiners and complainers more than anything I think, and a simple "sad it's over, but I better get moving on another gig" is about all you can say. I work roughly in the marketing world for larger corporations. The budget for promo, marketing, etc. is indeed one of the first things to get cut. It's easy to do, just cut it.

Ratio Technology Tease Direct Mount Derailleur Conversion
Maybe SRAM designed another part of the piece to bend/break if hit? Did anyone consider that? Instead of the actual hanger breaking or bending, some other replaceable part might be sacrificed? Would offer the best of both worlds, much stiffer, reliable mounting of the mech, removing the whole "hey, your hanger needs to be straight" arguments, but gives you a way to salvage the mech. Probably not though, they'd rather just sell you a whole new derailleur I suppose.

Pauline Ferrand Prevot Officially Signs with Ineos Grenadiers
They ought to add a band/color to the world champs if the person wins the overall too that year. Or something visual. that would be extra cool. But as long as the money and fame that comes with a World Champ win stays like it is, no one will care about Keller as much as PFP outside of us bike dorks. We know how PFP missed most of the races, then showed up at the end and killed everyone. Could have been an injury that someone has early and ends up with the same type of situation, or could be it was planned more or less to do that.

Ibis Ripmo & Ripley Receive UDH Update & New Colors
As a professional graphic designer for over 30 years, these types of things always interest me. Logos that last and last are valuable. But then someone gets the bright idea to update it. I often fight hard to keep elements or the vibe of the old logo in the new one. I actually like the headtube badges not being just a sticker, or under the clear water decal. The "cool" bikes always had metal head tube badges. Santa Cruz while simple, looks nice. I wonder why they didn't just do a new metal badge of this new design? I think that's what looks cheap to me now, not so much that they changed it, but that it's just stuck on as a decal.

Mathias Flückiger Claims Innocence in Doping Case, Sample Should Have Been Reported 'Atypical' Not 'Positive'
@NorCalNomad: drug sentencing is not something I care about at all. I’ve never taken any, it’s not part of my world in the slightest. Not sure what that means though in this case? Flueck isn’t exactly getting arrested here, right? I’m in Chicagoland, I’d be happy if someone actually gets arrested for anything and not released an hour later.

Agreed. If you are going to ruin someones reputation for life, please be damn sure he did something wrong. 0.3 isn't even supposed to be a positive.

XCC Short Track Results from the Les Gets World Champs 2022
Man, I really though Blevins was going to do it again. I can't imagine how disappointed he is in himself with that move. Bummer man. Kind of a lean field though, no Luca, Nino, Flueck, Pidcock, Uolla, all viable winners. But Gaze earned it fair and square.

[Updated with Overall] Final Results from the Vallnord XC World Cup 2022
It's almost guaranteed to end this way. I've been following these races for 30 years, and I can't remember more than a few times someone focusing on one single day's race, whether Olympics or World Champs, actually pulled it off. Why put so much pressure on yourself? PFP looks bad, compared to her regular self. Skipping races, and supposedly riding into form just doesn't seem realistic. Loana will march in there and kill everyone at world champs. She's got the mojo going. From the couch, it just doesn't seem realistic you can just train yourself into world champ winning form. But once again, I'm probably talking out of my a** anyway.

YES. I've argued this over and over. Throw a stupid co2 in your back pocket. With the noodles in the tires, a 20 second stop and hit of air could keep the bike rolling fine for quite a while I bet. Especially the top 10 riders, who losing 20 places could really matter at the end of the year. Losing 2 or 3 places only might be worth carrying something for a flat.
