Shimano Launches Ultread Soles & 2022 Footwear Range
@g-42: If there was a "preset" way when tightening to get it just right, fine, no loosening needed. But when I put them on, I have no idea if they are tight enough, or too tight until I ride for a few minutes. And I tend to over tighten them when sitting on a stool in the garage. So I need slightly loosen them a click or two. If you are replacing velcro or ratchets with a round device, then they should loosen or tighten equally. With the "old" style ratchets, you could pop the button and the things would loosen up one notch or two. and you could just pull the lever to tighten again. But when you pop up a boa dial, it loosens quite a bit and just pushing right back down again means I have to tighten the knob again, and if I go even a few clicks too far? Pop it all over again and try again. I've actually sold off all my BOA shoes that only tighten as it's a pain. The high end dials that go both ways are superior in every way. I get it, on the lowest end of lowest end, fine. But on $250+ shoes? I need to spend $350-450 for this one feature? It stinks because there are virtually zero mid to higher end mtb shoes made anymore that aren't just one or two boa dials. No more innovation of any kind. SIDI has their own dials, which are okay, Northwave does their own, but that's it. Fizik has a few with straps, which I love, but not in a higher end mtb xc type shoe.

NIB Sram XX1 AXS Upgrade Kit w/free Rocker Paddle

$925 USD
Bought a whole drivetrain and decided to just keep what I have. So up for sale is the XX1 AXS upgrade kit, which includes regular/original shifter paddle, rear mech, bgap tool new white style, one battery, battery charger, bar mount for shifter, original everything, just as i got it. I opened it, but never installed it or did anything with it. Original outer box comes with it as well. I also bought the new rocker paddle shifter pack, and am including this in the box. I will include a copy of the original sales receipt. I bought it from Colorado Cyclist full retail, no grey market stuff from ebay here. Price includes shipping. Paypal, Zelle is fine. Will ship quickly.

For these kinds of dollars, why on earth can't BOA make their dials tighten and loosen without popping the entire thing open? On a bike, it's so dumb to have to pop your shoe loose, push down again, and tweak to get it right. I find I often need to loosen my boa's dials just a click or two. Yet, only the absolute top of the line shoes offer this. It clearly is something that keeps the expensive shoes "different" than the middle range shoes. Very annoying. This should be built in to every single BOA dial regardless of price. It's just basic adjustability for a dial.

I think that Koretzky photo is captioned wrong, wasn't it Anton Cooper that broke the chain?

XCC Short Track Results from the Val di Sole World Championships 2021
@handynzl: that makes no sense. They only had to get rid of a few people. If you were selected to race at the world champs, wouldn’t you have to have UCI points? I didn’t say anything about racing world cups at all. Just points. Every single rider has to have a uci ranking I would guess. A small country, or any country, couldn’t just pick some random person from their local series and send them to the World Champs, could they? I have eno idea how it works, but even the lowest riders in the races must still be ranked. If they had 68 riders to whittle down to 40, then I get it. But it was like 47 down to 40. Makes no matter to me either way. Just seems weird. My way makes it known who is eligible for the short track before the race. I’d say first 40 who show up day of get to go. Since many top ranked people skip it, you’d just keep going down the list until you fill the 40.

XCC Short Track Results from the Val di Sole World Championships 2021
@Augustus-G: He looked so composed the first few laps, almost a joy ride. But he clearly ran out of steam somewhere. Still a good run, I mean 10 seconds behind is like 14th place or something. I still don't get the 2 heats runoff. Why not simply take the whoever wants to race, and take the top 40 rankings, and be done? Everyone who is in the world champs has a UCI ranking number already. One thing I liked is the ride whatever bike you want thing. Blevins was one of the only to ride a hard tail. That last minute of the race required pure power. Even locked out, maybe that gave him a touch of an edge? Probably not, these are pros and all that. But still kind of interesting.

XCC Short Track Results from the Val di Sole World Championships 2021
@Ososmash: Right, VPN first, then login as UK, and you'll get the full Rob/Brent commentary just like the world cups. It was fantastic to have those 2 and the whole red bull team doing the WChamps. They really were great races. short track can often be boring to me, fast, furious, but kind of predictable until the last lap. But this time, you never quite knew who was in the zone. I mean Blevins didn't even make his move until the last corner! One corner, and a sprint. It could have been a bust if he went any earlier.

Those were great races. The mens was the best, that was so cool. I could tell Blevins was feeling it early on. He never got left behind, and was always up in the first group. I love what Avancini said about him in the post race interview. I think the other racers are aware that he is on the rise. So, so cool to have him be a world champ. Can't wait to see him in Snowshoe wearing that jersey next month.
