Can 19 kilometres of singletrack feel like 40?
LaBrute is going to find out, as it fights for the title of The Biggest Little Race On Earth. Sunday, June 12th, at Camp Fortune, a beast will be crowned just a stone's throw from our nation's capital.
LaBrute is not the typical mountain bike event you would see in the East. That's because it was inspired by the west coast format of one-lap, mass start, technical XC races. LaBrute has an extra emphasis on fun and getting to know the local riding community, and maybe even riding your local trails in a completely new way. Presented by Specialized Canada and Bicyclettes de Hull, you can race it or you can just take it as a huge fun ride: LaBrute is a chance to get together for an epic day on the trail to celebrate the local riding community and to raise money for trail work done by the Ottawa Mountain Bike Association.
There will be a ton of delicious food, good music, and insanely generous prizes courtesy of Specialized Canada.
You can take part in the action and devour a hardy lunch for only $30! racelabrute.com/register
Sound like your kind of thing? Check out this video of a 44 year old badass with a goatee tearing the LaBrute course apart on his XC bike.

Specialized is the title sponsor of the event, and they will be giving out $3000 dollars worth of prizes. And local bike shop Bicyclettes de Hull has been kind enough to give one of its employees time off work to organize the whole event, and they will be making sure everyone is well-fed.
The course is 19 kilometers of trail, with plenty of elevation gain. About 90 minutes of riding time to complete the loop, but we encourage riders to go at their own pace. Don't hesitate to stop and hang out with your friends along the course.www.trailforks.com/route/labrute
It's going to be an awesome day, and we hope everyone comes out for the ride!
