Video: Singletrack Shredding in Quebec

A trail is a work of art. The terrain can give some amazing creation opportunities and the Shannahan sector in Vallée-Bras-du-Nord trail network near Quebec city is such a resource. Located in a steep valley in which roars a sinuous river and covered by wild forest and slick rocks, it has that jaw-dropping effect that takes you to a remote and humbling place. The pinnacle of all: a new trail called La Légende, built by Sentiers Boréal's craftsmen. Their unique interpretation of the terrain led to a masterpiece, celebrating the beauty of the area. I teamed up with Knolly riders Dom Toupin and Éric B.L. to give it an hommage. So if you come around Quebec for the Worlds, maybe take a few extra days off an bring your bike !

After nice and flowy singletrack deep in the forest, the trail emerges on the river bed. The boys are taking the landscape in! This is a trail where you just have to take a moment.

Hiking back up the last section. Not a bad view to end the trail! Just remember to look where you're going.

It is a special place.

Nothing more than a generic movie of mtb. The bikers who nail the wheel and the off-tracks bother me a lot.

Agree don’t know why your being downvoted @blacktea:

 @blacktea: what off tracks?

Trail looks great. How far from Mont Sainte Anne? My friends and I out there for a week and looking to spend a couple days peddling our trail bikes on the days the park is closed.

It is something like an hour and half from MSA ! Bunch of options to ride some sick trails around Quebec, Sentiers du Moulin also has insanely good and engaging enduro trails! In the Shannahan sector featured in this video, you'll have the epicness feel that is not available anywhere else around !

About 1:45/2 hours drive. Definitely worth the drive. Make sure you hit the Nelson trails. Also lots of great trails closest to Mont Ste-Anne/Quebec City...  @dlapier74: awesome, thanks for the link and info. My first time to this area and pretty excited to ride

@sweetdaddycool: there's a lot of riding to do in the quebec city region
  • 2 1
@sweetdaddycool Sentier du Moulin is much closer and has way better trails, at least if you prefer natural trails like me. Vallée Bras du Nord is all buffed up and smoothed but have the best trail identification system I've seen to date in the Quebec province (you just can't get lost unless you're blind).

@lRaphl: just checked out their website and holy crap those trails look intense and really fun. Thanks for the tip, will have to keep it in mind.

You sure you want to ride there @sweetdaddycool looks like you might get your bike dirty.

@patten09:haha, my bike might not be as bright as yours but I do like it to look shiny

I giggle every time I hear VBN using their affiliation with Kingdom Trails as a selling point. Should be the other way around. Some of my favorite riding, even, right here.

Not sure what the big deal is with the hate on the music. Having just got home from a trip to that area I can safely say that as nice as the video is ; you really need to see it for yourself as it’s so much more epic. The entire trail is super nice, the features , the signage. Everything. Having ridden there , the st-Raymond network and Sentiers du Moulin, it is truly a great place to spend a few days. Well done on the edit, it gets the important stuff which is all that counts

Is it really a double diamond. After watching this video I really really wanna ride it but the double diamond rating is scaring me.
  • 1 0
@DanTae: the main track is a single diamond, with some double-black options, most of which are featured in this video. In many other places, it would be classifed as blue/dark blue, but in Bras du Nord, that is family oriented, the rating is scaled down a bit. The trail is actually very fun and accessible to a lot of rider with some minimal skills.

@sentiersboreals: Awesome, thanks a lot for responding. Trip planning starts... Smile
Last year I checked out the Neilsons, still dream of riding them every day. Absolutely world class in every way!
Keep up the killer work guys!

@simondrouin c’est la piste La légende qui fini sur les roches/chutes?

Shredding should be a term to be erased from the world of mountain biking IMO
  • 4 0
Booooo! Shred, stoke, hype, send, gnarly, shralp. This lingo and more is part of the culture!
  • 2 1
@Vector1: it's not the word itself but the idea of mistreating trails (as seen in the video in some scene)
  • 1 4
That is an awful video, generic shots, bad music and cheesy slow mos
