Local Bike Park Hero and full-time Taurus, Noah Brousseau hammers down some of his local lines at Silver Star Bike Park. Thanks to an awesome trail crew led by the likes of the Vanilla Gorilla, Cam Sorensen.
Did anyone? The maiden is a totally playful bike, not a race one. I spent a bit time on one in September and I'd say it's far more playful than it is a pure speed machine. Even the geo numbers will tell you that.
Theirs a few problems with what you just said. First theirs is no publication called Mountain bike magazine. Either its Moutain bike Action, or Bike magazine. Secondly neither of these magazines have done a full review of the maiden. They did their first impressions along with every other website/ magazine. Thirdly at no point during that first test do i see them make any mention about the bike being to heavy, or about the bike being too soft. Actually suspension wise i heard the opposite. Dirt mag even mention something along the lines of "the bike was the funnest DH bike ive ridden since the 26 Specialized Demo. And Bike mag's intial thought's were from what i saw entirely positive. So maybe get a grasp on what your talking about before you talk.
It was mountain bike action, sorry i missed a word. Did anyone else read the review they did on the maiden? I would just like to prove that I didn't make this up
There is a small review in MBR which states the World Cup version is 35lbs, not what I would call heavy. I will be ordering one soon, as I'm not a full blown racer and most bikes are only as fast as the rider.
BackyardFreerider: I wouldn't take mtn bike action's word on it. They have amateur rider's with journalism degrees writing the reviews over the course of a day or two, or if lucky, a single run. They probably have less experience riding big bikes than 90-95% of us on this site.
