bigquotesThe Chilcotins is one of the most magical places in the world to ride a mountain bike - and the thrill of being out there as a group is an experience of a lifetime. Shimano and Pearl Izumi look forward to partnering with Sweet Skills and making this ride to reality for one very lucky woman. - Elladee Brown/BC Shimano Representative.

bigquotesI am so excited to offer someone the chance to experience a backcountry adventure like this in the Chilcotins! Riding in the Chilcotins has to be experienced by everyone in their riding lifetime! I came up with the idea of collecting sponsor money for this prize instead of other gear that is just - well - gear! This is an experience and offering it to someone who may have always wanted to go but was out of their reach for various reasons will just make my summer (and could possibly change their life)! - Sylvie Allen, Owner of Sweet Skills.

 Well I entered and I dare you to deny my claim that I am not a female mountain biker. Your move Shimano...

 Gender is so subjective these days. I am sure that Shimano will support LGBTQ entries as well. Pinkbike applauds you!

 The company is giving away a free trip with the intention of promoting women's mountain biking (and obviously their brands) and people get offended? We are in a brave new world indeed people.

Clean the tears from your eyes and go ride your bike.

 I don't see anyone here offended, just a lot of people making fun of people who get offended by such things.

 @ryan83: Ahhh....such bad language...are we sure these are real mountain bikers? Maybe they own e-bikes? (Notice I didn't say ride)

 @ryan83: Oh lol I didn't know about that...ok.

 Its interesting that they had a similar contest last year announced on the same day; open to both genders.
The post got 3 lame comments.
Same troublemaker.

 "The contest is open to most residents in North America " what a joke, apparently if your age doesn't fall in their age range you will get a message saying "your age does not qualify for this contest" and that was from a friend who rides 10-14 hours per week, is training for a 24 solo race and wanted to possibly win this experience. Shame on you sweet skills, if you are going to run a contest for "one lucky woman" then by all means don't put up any stupid barriers like age (unless there is a minimum age requirement for legal purposes (alcohol, etc..) If I were you Elladee Brown/BC Shimano Representative I wouldn't be putting my company's name behind this contest.
