| The Chilcotins is one of the most magical places in the world to ride a mountain bike - and the thrill of being out there as a group is an experience of a lifetime. Shimano and Pearl Izumi look forward to partnering with Sweet Skills and making this ride to reality for one very lucky woman. - Elladee Brown/BC Shimano Representative. |
| I am so excited to offer someone the chance to experience a backcountry adventure like this in the Chilcotins! Riding in the Chilcotins has to be experienced by everyone in their riding lifetime! I came up with the idea of collecting sponsor money for this prize instead of other gear that is just - well - gear! This is an experience and offering it to someone who may have always wanted to go but was out of their reach for various reasons will just make my summer (and could possibly change their life)! - Sylvie Allen, Owner of Sweet Skills. |

Something about a drummer...
Don't lose hope though! You may be lucky enough that there will be a contest only for butthurt guys that feel discriminated against by the system!
Go ride a bike and let the ladies have some fun.
Discrimination implies there are victims - who is the victim here? You - because you are butthurt?
Leave them alone and go ride your bike, and if you have any spare time, study up on logic and critical thinking. You need it.
Back to biking now - Good on you Sweet Skills! What an awesome job and incredible prize. It sounds amazing! May your company prosper and succeed.
Being male or female is a lot more than having different tooling south of the border, so the whole "based on a physical attribute" statement is pretty ridiculous. Stay angry dude but I honestly don't know why you're so bent on a giveaway for an underrepresented group in the MTB community. If it gets more people into the sport it's a good thing.
The butthurt ride through the chilcotins. sounds magical!
Damn, why do these contests always bring out the kooks?
You mentioned sexism - different subject.
You can freely ride the same trails that this company coaches/guides on. At Augusta, according to you, only men could play in the past. (BTW - I bet if you or I showed up at Augusta next weekend, they would not let us play their course. So, is that discrimination or sexism too?)
What - so you are going to force her to offer you a chance at their generous free prize because you are a man?
Sexism in it's worst form is when a women gets denied money or opportunity even if she is equal to a man. It implies damage or victimization - Again - who is getting hurt here? Where is the damage or victimization - the answer there is none. If it is sexist (and I don't think it is) who cares, no one is being hurt.
Let's stick to biking please, and leave your fallacious logic off the forum.
Subject change - Rare 80 degree days in Seattle, the dirt is perfect and the weather is amazing for April/May. We are in MTB heaven out here Do you have a comment on that?
You can still enter, you just won't win. Your (right?) to enter is still there.
You have got to be kidding... you think you have a right.... to enter a contest, and someone took it away from you?
Wow - unbelievable. No written words will ever cross the chasm from logical discourse to your mind...
