conditions look a hell of a lot better than opening week. That weekend was brutal.
  • 1 0
Dude it was GNARLY. I had to do a complete teardown and rebuild after those three days up there.

We were there opening weekend too, brutal is an understatement! We also went up last weekend and the forecast was similar but we had perfect weather... with Snowshoe you go regardless because the forecast has a 50% chance of being wrong. :-/

Perfect course to test out all the new rim protection systems, Jesus that's rocky!

That track has a really good mix of terrain, wide-open high-speed sections and tight, awkward tech. And jumps!

A proper USAC National track! Nice work track builders!

 new wild zone is burly.

Fer shizzle! The chicken line to the right looks pretty off camber in places so it's not going to be easy.

Thanks for the Rux eye view Tommy Zula. Course looks fun. Good luck!!

 Full body armor.

A little less fireroad and that could be a proper World cup DH course!

Great video! Would have been better to leave the music off, though.

What the hell is it with modern mtn biking and stupid berm and straight lines? That track was way more fun and challenging 5 years ago when all those stupid berms weren't there and you had to know how to corner on flat, off camber turns. To be honest I was surprised lower hare ball wasn't all bermed up, but no surprise they just straightened the upper section of it.

Poison Oak/Ivy? Whew. That looks rough.
  • 2 0
Surprisingly, we really don't have too much oak/ivy up here at the shoe'

@snowshoeMTN: Any clue how I can get qualified before then? I've not done Nats in the last few years with not being close. I bought my license and then realized I'm not even qualified. I've always been qualified in the past when they were close, so the thought didn't hit me until yesterday.

Doh!

@bizutch: Come up and race Plattekill this weekend, that'll do it.

@Eastern-States-Cup: George...I got no place to stay. Are you trying to tempt me into sleeping in a hot parking lot and taking showers in a drainage pipe like last time?

Not sure how the old bones would handle that.
  • 1 0
@Eastern-States-Cup: but seriously...knoe anybody from the south heading up?
  • 1 0
 @bizutch: email Tom at tmahoney@usacycling.org

@snowshoeMTN: they just pointed me to the ESC races in Platty and Vermont. Sucks. I wanted to be there for Wheelie Wednesdays with Mikey Valach
