Our bikepark was put on hold because of a petition of 100 people. We have been trying to get the park for years and people think the park will be a bad thing and do not want it. We fight back in a meeting.

That is the recent article in the paper about the haltation of our bikepark. We have being trying for a few years to get the park. We did everything we were required to do and raised the money. We got excited about the park and then we find out that a petition has been made to stop the building of the park. The Locals here are very angry about this. We have one skatepark and it gets old very fast. We put time and effort into getting the park and we hit yet another roadblock to get the park. We are having another meeting on july 8th and if all goes we will hopefully get the park going again.

- We had our meeting yesterday, some people are crazyMadder . These people are argueing that we shouldnt have the park because it will bring more graffitti, vandalism and other bad things, they also say that all of us shitting and urinating around the park is going to start to smell(theres gonna be portapotties and hopefully a bathroom after a while), they also it will be an eyesore and it will decrease property value. We argue that we will not tolerate and bad stuff going on and that there will be some sort of bathrooms or that they are close and easy to access. They say it will be an eyesore, we agree because of the 16ft roll and we even say we dont mind the park mover farther away in the same field. Property value wouldnt decrease as it will be a great place for children. They worry about dust storms, huge duststorms because of the wind and that they will not be able to open windows in summer. They dont know much or have much experience with being near a bikepark and it is not constant wind 24/7 so its not a big problem. Then one crazy guy says we should build a seniors walking area and everyone laughed at him and ignored his opinion. They say they have had vandalism problems for 18 years and think we will make it worse and we say you are stereotyping us that is not fair and they shut up. We argue for around 2 hours and then the meeting is summed up and we wait till july 28th to hear back from council.
