As the trip North continues, the girls board the Arrow Lake ferry, leaving the Kootenays behind them and making their way across to Revelstoke. This is where Casey grew up, and she was eager to show Micayla and Georgia around.

To kick it all off, they head to Revelstoke Mountain Resort for some fast and flowy bike park laps.

One of the best areas in Revelstoke to shuttle is Boulder Mountain. There is a lot of variety in terrain and skill level. Anyone can find a trail to test their skills on.

A very iconic ride to do in Revelstoke is Frisby Ridge. The girls pedalled up for sunset, which is a great time of day to really take in just how beautiful the scenery is. Just make sure to bring a headlamp for the ride down, as it gets dark quickly. We learned that one the hard way...

Revelstoke was a real treat. Such unique riding and so many different zones to choose from. The girls wanted to keep exploring but had to keep moving up north.

Trail bikes at the bike park....DH rigs off bike park...Not sure if that says more about the bike park or the trails being built outside of the park.

I think it says alot about the capability of modern bikes. I ride the same things that I rode on my old bike and while skill has improved, the bike does alot to make things easier. I sold my DH bike two years ago to run a trail bike all the time, haven't looked back

The bike park in question requires a significant pedal up after you get off the lift, luckily the one flow trail back down definitely doesn't warrant a dh bike. Boulder mountain, on the other hand, has some real dh tracks. I was unlucky enough to have to pedal it when I was there, but I definitely would've appreciated dual crown on some of those trails.

Check the little trailforks map in the story - Pipewrench they are riding on the DH bikes - the trail bikes are for the Stoke Climb and Fifty Six Twenty back down.

I live in Revy, riding a DH at the bike park is almost too much tbh. A really good slack, long travel bike would be perfect for it especially since there's an uphill to get to the top of 5620 if you want to get to the top, but a DH bike is pretty confidence inspiring everywhere in the park. Then there's Boulder. That was there way before RMR started the bike park and is where the real more gnarly stuff is. Shuttle trails there so a lot of DH bikes, but a lot of people do pedal enduro bikes up too because they can handle it pretty well.

The bike park is pretty new, and the first trail they built was an uber long flow trail so trail bikes are perfect.

As dirtjumper771 says, Boulder has proper DH trails and most people shuttle it, hence DH bikes. (I lived in Revy for 6 months)

Revelstoke is almost as dorky as Squamish... Need I say more?
  • 2 3
@skimtb1: not yet lol squamish will always win the dork olympics with whistler a close second
  • 3 3
@skimtb1: yeah its all just backcountry skiers that started biking because it looks like ski touring. They all buy the most expensive gear and see who can have the most flashiest accessories and then freak the f*ck out if their tires leave the ground more than 1 inch. Everyone from revelstoke thinks riding only counts if you xc up first, I got so many dirty looks for riding a downhill bike at the ski hill before the park opened. I mean the LIFT accessed bike park has a 7km climb trail after you get off the gondola, that tells you everything you need to know about Revy lol.

For the record, That is a TLD D4 helmet on Micayla, not an Abus, seems to be abus decals placed on there. Killer feature ladies, nice work spreading the MTB gospel.

What sucks, where I grew up, and having gotten into MTB later in life, i never had an opportunity to meet ladies like these. Feels like an entire part of life is missing. So rad to see.

Comes at a price bro’ ! Gotta divorce the ego first ! and then watch out what you wish for as it might come to you .....

I prefer to just admire and be respectful to those kind of ladies as I’ve learned I’m not mature enough to handle such relationship

@makripper: a place to stand, a place to grow...
  • 2 0
@makripper: Depends if we're talking Medicine or Pincher Creek Smile
  • 1 0
@Adamrideshisbike: have you been to either? Pincher Creek is a shit hole. I'd rather be in medicine hat. Better scene and nicer people
  • 3 0
@makripper: I have but this doesn't feel like light banter to me. So, happy Friday and have a great weekend.
