@bashhard: I'd bet it's because the coverage has gone full American mega corp. There will be clauses in there saying there can be no use of their product in any form without financial restitution and it's probably a risky move to point out who's to blame without losing access to said product.
I'm trying to remain realistic with this whole thing, but it certainly feels like the new spandex clad owners are sucking the excitement out of DH.
I've never been less interested in World Cup Downhill than I am right now, and that's sad. I've watched every race for the past 10 years. Now I fear I'm required to pay for a watered down, inferior product.
I very much hope I'm wrong about this.
So, it's finally happening!! Can't wait to watch the races (still don't know how to watch in Brazil, but I'ill figure it out hopefully). I'm betting this year will be one of the most competitive seasons of all time. So many good riders. Pierron, Bruni, Vergier, Brosnan, Greenland, Iles, Kolb, Kerr.. the list goes on. And now Goldstone and Williams. I think if ANY of those riders gets to be world champion, I wouldnt be surprised.
They usually do a track preview the Thursday of race week. Track walk is done on a Wednesday. Who knows what the schedule will be now. This is just a rider going down the course and filming it.
Anyone figure out Discovery coverage in the US?? Discovery was supposed to carry UCI, but now they merged with HBO. We have Max but I can't find anything sports related on the Discovery section. Hoping they're still working on moving that content over?? Or do I just suck it up and pay for GCN too?
@bostondonmtb: Not entirely true, Discovery+ website still shows all the UCI stuff, including next weekend. Looks like Discovery+ is still a standalone option. I have a race that weekend anyways, just wait till I hear how the coverage of first race goes.
Yeah this is a perfect crap storm this year. All the races start much later, the people carrying the races are ultimately not promoting it effectively either. GCN isn't expensive but the lions share of racing is road racing. Discovery is a more attractive option but many of us already have HBO and are now merged into discovery and there appears to be no races on that, or at the very least this going to cost time and money to work out how our current package works into what we hope to see.
Looks like there's a free trial for Disco+ so I'm going to try that, then see if it's worth 20 odd quid for the next 3 months sub. If it's decent then I can probably live with that.
we need Wyn.
I prefer a virtual Claudio I mean a voice over does not cut it for me I want to hear hard AF breathing and scarred responses in real time.
So, Pinkbike could only do Fantasy DH if there is no financial gain or something? Could we have it without prices and then nobody gets taken to court over UCI related copyrights?
I hope that there isn't a stream site to watch it for free. If there is it would really upset me if someone posted a link to it. Wouldn't agree with that sort of thing at all.
He uploads new videos on his OF daily...no spam...He love DMs...follow him on Instagram for 10% off and on TikTok where he actually rides the real track instead of just click-baiting.
Step it up folks.

(and I completely understand why doesn't do them any more!)
