Video: Course Preview for the Glentress XC World Champs 2023
@ro-bert: Sad times ... was looking around for information whether this track (unlike most) would actually remain intact. We will travel Scottland in Summer next year and I was hoping to finally do some laps on a proper XC course again. Haven't been between the tapes for ages but I really miss challenging XC loops as they are usually only rideable for the event only.
Sure, one can ride a couple of trail features here and there but that doesn't compare to a complete, well rounded XC loop (imo) to properly max out for an hour or two.

4X Results from the Val di Sole World Championships 2021
Totally agree, it's exciting and I always feel it's the kind of competition one can "relate" to. When I think back on which formats your daily "race" with your riding buddies could correspond to - it's either crosscountry (if the descents aren't long enough and you have to pedal a lot on your loop) or 4x when you hit your favourite trail with your buddies all at the same time and try to overtake each other.
As much as I enjoy DH and Enduro race coverage, I can't remember a day out with my friends when we said "you go ahead, I'll follow in 1min and then we check on Strava who was faster ..." so yeah, it's exciting to watch and for me the essence of a good day out racing.

The Evolution of the Commencal Supreme
Well, the Intense M6 showed that the "normal customers" didn't actually like to have the same bike as the pro riders, since they had to produce different dropouts to allow for wider tires (without tire rub at the seat tube) and a higher bb ... and even then the M6 remained an incredible "low" bike (got it myself)
