Bike Parks Calgary is a not for profit organization bringing an outdoor bike park to Calgary, Alberta. With the help of donors we want to supply the city with a premier facility. Not only will the be an amazing resource for Albertans but an attraction for riders from all corners of the country and beyond.

Our goal is to secure the needed funds for our project and break ground in 2015! Plans have been laid out, all that is missing is the funding and support to implement Phase 1 of the construction process. We are raffling off a 2014 Chromag Monk Frame and an Overature Saddle autographed by Brandon Semenuk courtesy of NRG Enterprises to help get started as a fun way kick things off! Although the entire park will cost approximately $950,000.00 to complete, we can build in phases as the funds become available. We are also working on corporate funding and grant sources to achieve our goal. Every dollar we receive goes toward the building of the park and every dollar helps!

If you're in the Calgary area on February 13th we will be holding a movie night at the plaza theatre. One of the most epic mountain bike movies of all time, NWD 4, will be playing and possibly some Calgary classics. There will be tons of beer, prizing, and good times to be had by all bikers in the area. We want the community to get together, get stoked and realize how many people this park would benefit. Our biggest challenge is gaining visible support from the cycling community and others. We are always looking for help from those that are interested, to find donors, funding sources, and members to help bring this project to life. As funds become available, we will face many challenges in development, planning and maintaining our park. All of which we can overcome with commitment, passion and support!

Bike Parks Calgary is aiming to build innovative parks that meet the needs of most riders. We are open to ideas, comments and suggestions! If you have something you would love to see, share it with us! We will begin with the Bottomland site. Then as funding is available, we will build on our second plot of land. Visit the website and Facebook page for details and contact us any time!

 I donated.

This is fantastic. I would love a place where I could take the kids to rip around on a small pump track. I could sneak away and get some laps in on a more advanced one...

The city badly needs a home for cyclocross racing. The scene is pretty large. One limitation is that the races are run on city park land, and they will fine the organizers if the grass is damaged. That means that races get cancelled half of the time due to rain or threat of rain. If we have a dedicated area we can better manage this situation and even perform maintenance ourselves (the clubs) as needed to make sure it stays the way we want it... Mud is part of real cyclocross racing.

Totally thought that if we got a bike park it would be in the NW or something but it's so close to my house, would be down to volunteer!!!

Dh trails? Or is it being built on flat ground
  • 3 0
@gouty No Downhill trails. There will be a cross country loop, multiple pump tracks, Dirt jumps ranging from beginner to expert, a skills section as well as a cyclocross course. If you want proper DH moose mountain is the closest.

more jump oriented ? are you the main builder or some jay hoots or soemthing? i want to support but i want to support big jumps , somewhere i dont have to drive too far to ride .im thinking like as big chestermere or bigger, better buolt too , lets face it chestermere has no flow ...

@wuzupjosh Very much jump oriented but will also cater to many other riding demographics. The company building is Alpine Bike Parks, the same company that built Chestemere. I will personally be working with them to ensure a bike park that flows well and allows riders an excellent place to progress skills.
