After spending a weekend in Moab for the Scott Enduro Cup and seeing what some of the other trails in the area had to offer, Amanda Cordell and Steve lloyd decided to team up and head back down south to shoot an edit. With fresh gear that had just arrived from USWE (a hydration pack company from Sweden specializing in harness technology) and a lot of stoke to explore trails we had never ridden, we set out to capture the finest that Moab has to offer. Most the video was shot on Captain Ahab trail off the Amasa Back trail system. If you haven't ridden this trail make sure to put it on your bucket list because it's got the best of everything Moab has to offer. With classic Moab up hill, this trail system turns to a designated one way only for the decent and it incorporates everything from fast and flowing slick rock to technical rock rolls. Our goal was to get you stoked, so we hope you enjoy.

A video of a prety lady shredding just as prety trails....I'm stoked too!
  • 24 3
I would say more gorjuss than prety, but that's prolly just splitting heirs.

I see what you did there...

That looks like a lot of fun to ride

Making "you ride like a girl" be a compliment. Keep shredding lady riders.

Was lucky to detour from a business trip to utah for one day moab riding and have first hand Ahab experience: She's good! Looks so effortless but believe me all those rolls like 2:42 are steep and bumpy and you can go OTB any moment if you don't watch it.

After listening to "Desert Solitaire" on tape while riding my rollers last night, this makes me want to get out to Utah ASAP. I miss that place so much. Very few things like waking up to the sun coming over the mountains to the east of Arches National Park, snow on the high peaks, and coffee steaming in your hand.

I tried to up-vote this a dozen times.

Amanda is one of the smoothest riders out there, doesn't matter if she's on a downhill or enduro bike. Also an amazing person that was nothing but excited to race in Moab at the Scott Enduro Cup. Look forward to seeing you again at the Canyon's stop on the 15th of August!

That music is literally a waste of time though.
  • 7 1
everybody neggin you on that, when the song is actually called "waste of time"

where can I find mo like this?

 So punny!

Nice edit! *the first 52 seconds was filmed on the Portal trail, which is mabey the best DH we have, and punctuates the now legal "blue dot" trail along Gold Bar Rim. They did a great job keeping the original integrity of an exciting alternative to the jeep route. Techy moves, and lots of drop-tions **)

Love the pace - she's moving!
  • 7 0
Amanda, you're kick ass. Yeah girl! Nice edit.

Awesome riding Amanda - You make our gear look so good! Great work on the edit Steve!
  • 2 0
Nice edit. Great riding. You'll be disappointed though if you just go ride Ahab as that edit encompasses Portal, Mag 7, Amasa Back proper and the backside. Ahab wasn't the standout, neither. You'll even miss out on that nice bigish drop she did there in the play area of Amasa as Ahab bypasses that.

Amanda just oozes style in this edit. Also a super humble person with a driving passion to ride, that can rip on downhill or enduro bikes. It was great having you at the Enduro Cup in Moab, and we look forward to seeing you flow through the Canyons course on the 15th of August.

mmmm, Amanda, ooze, flow. Sounds wonderful....

Good song, good edit, good riding

I think the trend toward raw sound vids would help this...we want to hear tires, rocks, and freewheels, and breath.
  • 4 0
If only I were fast enough to make it cool... But with sites cracking down on music rights I think we will see more of that moving forward..
  • 1 0
You make it work just fine! I liked the video and your riding is great. I haven't been to Moab in, uh....15 years! Sometimes audio terrain memories can be a fun flashback.

So, what if a young woman happens to be a brilliant rider, but not an A-grade babe? Does she still get a video made about her? Is it just coincidence that all these gear manikins just happen to be gorgeous? Or is MTB is in danger of getting seriously shallow and sexist?
  • 2 0
Gear manikin? I think the process is the same for all athletes, we all work for our keep.

This video brings back recent memories of having terrible time management skills and riding Capt. Ahab after a day of the whole enchilada. Needless to say the last 2 miles of Ahab were in the dark. Still fun though minus the close to death factor.

I cannot think of anything better than this! Beautiful woman ripping an awesome trail in some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. (And with a new hydration pack too!)
  • 2 0
 Very smooth riding!

Scenery like this just looks so bleak to me though. But the riding is fun if you aren't taking in the views Smile

They showed her riding down. When I rode Cpt. Ahab all I remember is mostly riding up. I think I saw the rock that got my leg.
  • 1 0
same here. The uphill doesn't make for much of an edit, attractive rider or not.
  • 1 0
The uphill is mostly the Hymasa trail other than the first 20/30 min of Ahab which is probably the toughest and most techy climb of the whole ride. When I show someone a video of what I've been up to this year I always put on a montage of the last 20 minutes of Ahab, some of the same areas the video above showed. I am an intermediate rider and my 1st ride I psyched myself out for this ride, but my 2nd ride I saved for my last day in Moab and found all the rolls I missed or miss-timed on my 1st and had the best ride of my life. The views combined with the solitude of that 2nd attempt and the fact I was camping along the river right at the base of this trail system is probably the highlight of my 7 yrs mtb-ing. I rode Sovereign, Klondike, Bar-M, Mag 7 and 2/3 of the Whole Enchilada but when I go back next spring the ride I hit first is Amasa Back for sure. I'm so glad this edit came out so I can finally show my friends/family what this trail really looks like.

I did throw in Rockstacker into the mix during my Capt Ahab ride. Made for a double super epic, full Moses wandering the wilderness, 10 star ride.

 Hey i'm single......just sayin'.

 Awesome. Mandy sure can shred!
  • 2 0

  • 3 1
As usual. A hot girl that rides at my pace is way out of my league.
  • 1 0
Attractive girl riding in beautiful location on great terrain? Nothing to see here folks, back to grip reviews.
  • 1 0
I need her...and Moab in my life @amnda
  • 1 0
stoked. Moab is def on the bucket list

 Hey, not cool!

That's how I fund my riding "career", but not something I am particularly stoked to inject into my riding.

Instead, let's plug my other vid. Smile www.pinkbike.com/news/girls-lunch-date-video-amanda-cordell-2014.html

How is that not cool? I think it's awesome! A shredder who also promotes fitness and makes money along the way to get to go biking. Brilliant Smile Good work lady!
  • 6 0
May have been the "ok guys enjoy" comment. A little creppy.
  • 3 0
Totally. haha! Yet I'm happy to get to know some more about you!
  • 2 3
I like the riding, the exposure, and the rider, but there were way too many pan shots in that video. I felt ill watching every shot as the camera panned across...

Nice work to all involved, I'm craving me some Amasa back!
