All joking aside, Thank you @stevev88 for helping raise awareness for Men's health/first responders. It's incredible how little recognition or aid is available to many that struggle. Having spent many seasons on the front line as a Wildland firefighter, I have seen and dealt with some shit. Drops in the bucket in comparison to some of my friends/fam that are lifers in the first responder world. Some of the stories I have heard give me nightmares, let alone being there in the moment.

I'm on the red MTX brake pads, Sentinel V2x Code RSC and so far I like them but less bite and less power than the metallic pads. I'll try the gold MTX pads next to see if they have a little more power for the steeps.

I'm running the gold pads in my Guide RSC brakes and it made an incredible difference in all aspects of brake performance. I was seriously considering a more powerful brake set prior to these and now I see no need.

We have found that a lot of riders in your area dig the Gold over the Red *IF* they primarily descend and descend your typical crazy-steep terrain. But the average trail rider will benefit more from the Red because of their smooth feel and mega-silence. Obviously Steve is on Gold front and rear. Another combo to consider though is to run Gold front / Red rear. This maxes-out your power up front and maintains smooth modulation in back for cornering. Stoked you're on them and let us know what you think of the Gold.

Steve seems like such a fantastic guy and rider. I fully recognize that his real job is incredibly important now more than ever, but I selfishly wish he would devote all his awesomeness to MTB. Steve, thanks for all you do!

@Beaconbike I feel the same about being beardless. I only alter the beard to match Halloween costumes/characters every year. So my first ride after being in costume, my face is COOOOOOOOLD!

New spartan is really really good. This was actually shot just before I received the new one. It’s an improvement in every way while still staying very lively and fun and “freeride”
