THE TRAILBLAZER MIPS HELMET

Set the trails on fire in full confidence.

As trail riding and bikes evolve, so should the performance of your helmet. The Trailblazer is the latest evolution of our pioneering multi-piece variable elasticity shell technology, leading the way in protection performance. Now you can blaze new trails with superior protection and confidence.

With trickle-down shell technology from the proven Bushwhacker, this helmet provides strength and performance with its 4-piece variable shell construction. The Trailblazer MIPS introduces an updated design with a contemporary take on our Sweet Protection DNA featuring a new visor placement and a progressive styling. The visor can be adjusted with the new visor mechanism, and the helmet also comes with a completely new Occigrip turn-dial system and STACC ventilation. This model is also equipped with the MIPS, a low friction layer solution designed to reduce rotational forces transferred to the brain.

Weight: 325g

bigquotesWe’re extremely proud to launch the Trailblazer helmet. It’s been a massive project with a goal to develop a modern MTB helmet based on the proven construction of the Bushwhacker. Increasing performance and comfort has been key factors, and feedback from our riders has proven that we’ve succeeded in every area.Ståle Møller, Director of Design & Development

bigquotesAfter successfully launching our brand-new snow goggle collection, it was only natural for us to extend our technology development into summer. We strongly feel we’ve been able to address some very challenging problems, especially in terms of field of vision and helmet interface.Ståle Møller, Director of Design & Development

That is a cool helmet. Needs neon colors and camp pattern. Have they learned nothing about mtb marketing?

It's Europe and they are from Scandinavia, they get a pass on anything as long as they use word "function" in marketing. Oh wait they didn't! They just broke the fundamental rule of Scandinavian design!

Neon colours are so 2019. Toned down earthy colours are all the Scandirage now! And they have plenty of them.

and some sort of X logo

For those of us that ride in areas where people also hunt for 2-3 months of the riding season, it’s nice to have some bright colors. Otherwise, their colors do look nice. I’ve heard great things about their ski helmets.

@whambat: that is responsible. Def helps out the hunters so I'm all for that

Remember that time last October where they were like, "We need everyone's email addresses to pick 5 brand ambassadors who will get all of our gear for free!" and then kept everyone's email addresses without picking an ambassador?

Rimless glasses. Not a great feature.

Well, in the current situation going rimless seems like the safest option... www.pinknews.co.uk/2020/03/14/coronavirus-could-be-spread-by-rimming-scientists-say-faecal-oral-transmission

It has say .org at the end of every link if you want to be sure that they are real true facts

@WAKIdesigns: need more layoffs in the 'news sector'. way too many sensationalist versus reporters.

@bigtim: but how are we supposed to ride fast?

I guess the lack of pricing means they´re gonna be too much for me..

Eyewear will start at £149 in the UK and the Trailblazer MIPS helmet will retail for £149.

I prefer my head protection to be salty.

That one time we did a press release and forgot to link to our website! Having worn a sweet helmet for the last few years, we only have positive things to say. Those sunglasses look sweet, too!

Their knee pads are pretty comfy. I say it's a 'lesser known brand' since I don't see a lot of their stuff in the US.

They've been well-known in the whitewater world for some time. Their MTB gear is newer. I have 2 pairs of their Hunter enduro short- best shorts I've ever tried.

 @evasive: well-known in whitewater=lesser known

I love rimless sunglasses and these look awesome, but their website doesn't seem to have transmission % for any of the lenses, and it seems like each model ships with a single lens.

I wish all sunglass companies would do what Smith does and ship with at least two lenses: A "sunny day" lens with 15% transmission for exposed terrain on bright days, and an "in the woods" lens with 30-50% transmission. This combo is perfect for like 99% of rides. A clear lens is nice too, but generally I prefer a lightly tinted lens for low-light conditions.

Now if only the plastic bits didn't fall off the Smith Attack, I would never have to shop for sunglasses again.
