ADHRA - volunteers needed
ADHRA (Alberta Down Hill Racing Association) is looking at possibly holding a race on Sunday July 13th in Kicking Horse BC.
Races don't happen on their own and volunteers are needed to help make everything run more smoothly.Hey guys and gals,
The ADHRA has a downhill race "in the works" for Kicking Horse on Sunday July 13th, 2008 which is the weekend after Mount 7 Psychosis is in Golden as well. It's likely that the local volunteer base is going to be a bit tired out after Psychosis, so we're hoping to get some Albertans out to help. This isn't a for-sure race yet as it's still waiting for some paperwork to go through, but we're hoping to make it a go for this year.
We're looking for about 4 more first aid volunteers (CPR/basic first aid at a mimimum) and as many course marshals as possible. We're still working out the "perks" for volunteers, but it will include lunch and accommodation discounts with other kicking horse/ADHRA swag to be decided.

We're basically waiting on sanctioning and just got our insurance so things are falling into place nicely, it's just a matter of having things done in time for KHMR's management and the logistics of having a joint ABA/Cycling BC race make it tricky not to mention a bit slower in getting approval. All of us at ADHRA have been working like crazy this week to make it happen and I'll be up at KHMR to check out the course tomorrow. Fingers crossed everything comes together, I think we're just about done with the paperwork/planning side of things and will try to get an official announcement out ASAP so you folks can book your hotels for the weekend.
