There's a bit of a movement developing in the West Kootenays. Trail groups in Revelstoke, Nakusp, and New Denver are planning and building trails for Adaptive MTB riders. Each community will feature a different type of adaptive trail experience.

The Revelstoke Cycling Association is building a 1.3 km trail in conjunction with a jump park and skills area in the MacPherson trail system, Nakusp is completing a 2km section of XC trail at the newly designated Mt. Abriel MTB trail polygon with plans for more adaptive trail in the future. In New Denver, the trail crew has almost finished work on a 3km adaptive downhill trail as an extension to the popular Butter trail.

The goal among the three communities is to develop the West Kootenays as a destination for adaptive MTB riders and to encourage nearby MTB trail groups and communities to consider adaptive bike trails in their planning. Tara Llanes, adaptive mountain biker, has been consulting with local planners and builders to help bring these projects forward.

Nice to see more of this. Seems easy enough considering the propensity for machine built trails

Heck yes, seems like if you built a digger built trail, access for all this should always be taken into consideration
