1989 Bridgestone MB-1 (49cm / 19.3”)

$750 USD
***LOCAL Pickup in DMV area only *** Original owner. Clearing out a spot in my garage as I bought a new bike and spouse insists an old bike must go. This was top-of-line for Bridgestone in 1989; the MB-Zip dropped in 1990. Had in storage since 2003. This year replaced all drivetrain components (new chainrings, new cassette, and new chain (details below)), replaced tires and tubes (details below), replaced all cables and housing, repacked hubs (disassembled down to loose ball bearings, removed all old grease, repacked with new grease, and reassembled). Has both crankarm dust caps (one is original, the other a used OEM). 26.1 lbs (as pictured with pedals, toeclips, and straps; bottle cages; Blackburn pump). Shimano XT groupset. 49cm (sizes available were 46, 49, 52, and 55cm); I am 5' 9". Full bike and part description at Sheldon Brown. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/1989/index.htm This was my main mtb from 1989-1992, and once I got a hardtail I still rode this some until 1997. Then in storage for several years. Then rode it as a commuter bike for half a year in 2002. Then back in storage until this year. My guess is that I have about 5000 miles on it. All parts original OEM except: - stem: Tioga T-bone (had this 20mm longer stem swapped in when bought bike new in 1989) - handlebars: Scott AT-2 (swapped bars likely 2002 when using as a commuter bike) - rear wheel: Sun Rim CR17A on Deore XT hub (original rim got dented, likely replaced wheel in 1994) - rear wheel skewer: Sugino (original Shimano skewer likely went with original dented rear rim/wheel) - seat post clamp: Shimano (replaced 1995; OEM 'security' seat post clamp will come with bike) - saddle: Terry Liberator Ti Race (make by Selle Italia, likely replaced 2002) - chainrings: Origin8 in 46T, 36T, 26T (replaced 2023, same teeth count as original biopace rings) - cassette: Shimano HG50 (replaced 2023, original 12-28 range, best quality 7-speed NOS still available) - chain: KMC X8 (replaced 2023) - tires: Michelin Country Rock 26x1.75 (replaced 2023) - bar tape: Cinelli Gel Ribbon (replaced 2023) The paint shows wear. But through the years, I regularly touchup painted chips (using Testors enamel model paint), so there is very little rust. There is one major blemish on the top tube, near the stem, where the rear brake cable rubbed through the paint. Check the photos - just forward of where the "Comp" sticker is on the top tube, driveside. Years ago, not interested in aesthetics, I sanded that out, touchup painted, but it’s far from perfect. And re-routed the brake cable to the other side, so that rubbing stopped. Trailcraft Timber 26"

$1200 USD
***LOCAL Pickup in DMV area only *** Trailcraft Timber “special build”, 26” wheel, 2018 model year. 1x10-speed, aluminum frame, mountain bike, all adult level components, plus small upgrades, weight w/o pedals: 22.5 lbs. Fits kids 4’6” to 5’. Asking $1,200. New $1,700 at Trailcraft.com, but sold out until mid-summer. Trailcraft specializes in high-end bicycles for kids. The owners (husband and wife) were in the cycling industry but could not find quality bikes of their kids, so designed their own. Excellent condition. Ridden for 10 hours / 100 miles or less. Purchased March 2018. Son rode for that summer, but shot up in size and I moved him up to an adult mtbike. “special build” is their mix and match value/cheapest component package. Details for the 2020 model are at: https://www.trailcraftcycles.com/product/timber-26/ under the “SPECS” tab. Versus the 2018 model, the key difference is a house-brand suspension fork (2020 model) vs a name-brand suspension fork (2018 model): Rockshok RL Gold Solo Air 100mm. Three minor upgrades: - Suspension/Dropper Seatpost: $50 upgrade. KS Exaform 861. 55mm of suspension seatpost travel. And 100mm of dropper travel; but dropper travel may not be of use if kid’s weight is too low to compress internal spring. Have the original seatpost, which will be included. - Saddle: $30 upgrade. WTB Volt saddle, cro-moly rails. Good quality adult size saddle. Have original kids Trailcraft saddle, which will be included. - Front Fender: $10 add-on. Azonic. Fender keeps mud off kid’s face and body. And also reduces mud on the stanchions of your front shock fork, increasing its longevity. Litespeed Ghisallo M/L 56cm

$2000 USD
Original owner. I bought this as a bare frame in 9/2009. And built it with a mix of new and used Shimano 9 speed parts (my other bikes were/are also 9 speed). The Ghisallo’s claim to fame is that it is the “lightest production titanium frameset”. Claimed weight in this size is 840g; unfortunately I don’t have a photo of it on a scale before I built it. The frame is Litespeed’s “T1”, which means it’s made of 6Al/4V (versus the more common 3AL/2.5V). Geometry and claimed weight in the chart (attached). As built and shown in photos:16.36 lbs (see photo). I am selling because (1) I have reached “N” vs “N-1”, (2) I’ve switched over to mtbiking, which has increasing my stable to N, (3) I have two other titanium road bikes besides the Ghisallo, and I haven’t ridden the Ghisallo in several years. There are about 1500-2000 miles on the frame. The Ghisallo was my primary road bike for 1.5 years, after which I bought another Ti bike that became my primary road bike. Unfortunately my Strava & MapMyRide only goes back to 9/2012, so I don’t know the exact mileage. Trailcraft 24” disc brake, tubeless wheelset (adult quality). Schwalbe Rocket Ron tires (lightest aggressive kids’ mtb tire; adult quality; newish rear, original front; set-up tubeless – so no flats to worry about). https://www.trailcraftcycles.com/product/24-trailcraft-wheelset/ Shock fork: $200 upgrade. Rockshok Recon Silver TK Solo Air 26” 100mm travel. This is an adult bicycle fork, with an air spring for precision preload adjustment, and has a travel lockout lever. https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/rockshox-recon-silver-tk-fork-26-100mm-solo-air-9mm-qr-crown-adjustment-1-1-8-alum-steerer-post-and-disc-brake Brakes: $125 upgrade. Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes with Avid Speed Dial7 levers. Entry level adult mechanical disc brakes, with reach set for kids’ hands. Suspension/Dropper Seatpost: $100 upgrade. KS Exaform 861. 55mm of suspension seatpost travel. And 100mm of dropper travel; but dropper travel is not much use as kid’s weight is too low to compress internal spring. Gearing: 13-34 Shimano HG50 7 speed cassette. Allows bike to have the same lowest gearing ratio as parents’ mtbs. We went mtbiking in Montana, and our son could climb anything we could. Saddle: Trailcraft Velo Junior, a bit better quality than a basic stock kid saddle. Grips: Stampede Bikes kid-size lock-on grips. Stock grips rotate under even moderate riding, which is very annoying; these are super secure, like adult grips. All other specifications, stock as found here: http://archive.trekbikes.com/us/en/2016/Trek/superfly_24#/us/en/2016/Trek/superfly_24/details Included: stock Bontrager seat post, stock 12-28 HG20 7 speed cassette, extra seal kit to service front shock.
