A lot of comments have touched on this, but I think it'd be an interesting podcast discussion or panel (ideally including athletes) about if the "product" provided by men's and women's events are really the same. I see merits to both of the main arguments I've seen here. If the racing is close, it's exciting (easier to see in XC with them all on course at the same time) vs. I want to see the absolute fastest, best riding physically possible. Would be cool to hear a good talk about it from the people involved if they could honestly explore a bunch of ideas without turning it into a virtue signaling contest.

@totaltoads: ah yes, I will avoid hitting the sharp rocks that make up large sections of my favorite trails. Cut sidewalls on blue tails are a blast. Any other tips?

@JSTootell: in Denver, a man was released on a signature bond after trying to kill his sister with a rock. He later shot a man in the face over a dispute about his name being spelled incorrectly on a check. Aren't anecdotes fun?

The problem is most people on big cities keep voting to take it easy on turds. Hopefully people start waking up and carrying about honest victims more than criminals.

@tiffe: my thighs are larger in diameter than my knees, and usually further back than my knees are in situations where my thighs are getting hit. Not getting hit by my seat IS preferable to getting hit by my seat.

I wouldn't say you need a 200mm dropper, but with steep seat tube angles it's very nice. The 180mm dropper on my bike means I have a saddle that occasionally whacks my inner thighs pretty hard. The steeper the trails you ride, the more you notice it.

Athletes in a sport with a massive fanbase compared to MTB make more money? Just crazy! No logical reason for it!
