WHAT ARE THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FREERIDE AWARDS?

We want to give thanks to those that are exemplifying the spirit of Freeride, being good ambassadors for the sport, and making the trails we ride better. We’re hoping this will make a positive impact on the mountain bike community and ignite the passion that riders have always had.

The Rocky Mountains continue to produce some seriously talented riders and trail builders that will be acknowledged and recognized by the RMFA's with thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs.

HOW IT WORKS...

It’s simple...

If you know somebody who deserves an RMFA for their skills, attitude, and dedication to the sport, they can enter or be nominated by completing the following nomination form https://www.theflannelcrew.com/awards

The top 10 Male and Female nominations for each category will be selected by The Flannel Crew and a panel of guest judges based on the nominee's Instagram content from the 2020 Mountain Bike Season.

Flannel Crew Judges: Austen Tanney, Joey Reinhart, Bryant Freeman, Andrij Chubaty

Guest Judges: Robbie Bourdon, Scott Thornhill, Stephanie Nychka, Garett Macintosh

The riders of Alberta and BC will choose the category winners by voting online once finalists are selected.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

-2020 TRAIL BUILDER OF THE YEAR

- 2020 FREERIDER OF THE YEAR

- 2020 DIRT JUMP / PARK RIDER OF THE YEAR

COMPETITION RULES:

1.) MUST BE A RESIDENT OF ALBERTA or BRITISH COLUMBIA.

2.) MUST HAVE A VALID PUBLIC INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT.

3.) NOMINEES CAN SELF NOMINATE OR BE NOMINATED FOR MULTIPLE AWARD CATEGORIES.

4.) PROFESSIONAL RIDERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FREERIDE AWARDS.

5.) MUST ENTER USING THE FLANNEL CREW SUBMISSION FORM.

6.) FINALISTS ARE REQUIRED TO CREATE A ONE MINUTE HIGHLIGHT VIDEO FOR AWARDS NIGHT.

VOTING & AWARDS:

NOMINATIONS OPEN: January 1st 2020 at 12:00
NOMINATIONS CLOSE: October 1st 2020 at 12:00
VOTING CLOSES: October 15th 2020 at 12:00
AWARDS PRESENTATION: Date & Venue: TBD

PRIZES:

Awards will be given to the winners of both Male and Female categories. Award winners will receive a large mountain bike prize package, gift certificates, lift tickets, mountain bike festival passes, and custom award trophy provided by our event sponsors.
