Starling Cycles Announces New MegaMurmur - More Travel, Longer Swingarm
Steel BMX - very cool Steel aggro Hardtail - very cool. Steel Roadbike - very cool (if done well) Steel full sus- I just don't get the look or even the logic behind it.

The Pinkbike Podcast: A Deep Dive on Pivot's Wild Prototype DH Bike with Bernard Kerr
@jackfunk: Thankyou, no I had not seen that frame before, it is just that. Very tempting isn't it, totally get a singlespeed DH bike, one gear is absolutely fine. I ride singlespeed on the road with climbs so if it works on the road with up and down it clearly will be fine on down only. Love that bike.

I still prefer the Brooklyn Machine Works layout tbh it would be so nice to see that resurrected with modern geo and about 30kg lighter!! The motorcycle linkage layout always seemed logical given how easy it is to get the rate you want through the linkage itself, rather than getting the whole swingarm to give you the rate.

I can't help but be sceptical around how much those tiny links actually do.

First Look: 2024 Giant Glory Downhill Race Bike
@onawalk: tbf you are right lol it's not the same layout ha ha I was a bit hasty there you are correct! I actually prefer the old layout, don't like these little links. So my comment was utter nonsense ha ha

I don't know why but I find it satisfying how we are basically back where we started at 23 years ago. Yes of course compared to the original ATX it is an infintly better bike, but to the untrained eye put them side by side and ask a non-rider what is the difference? Not much! This new bike is a highly developed version the same basic concept. This development phase has lasted 23 years it goes to show there really isn't as much to it as some bike companies will have us believe. It's not about continually bringing in new more complicated suspension systems it is about development and refinement of something quite simple. It seems this layout has been now confirmed as the best for a mountain bike and I am just fine with that.
