Pinkbike Poll: What Do You Carry to Fix a Flat Tire?
I really like doing endurance rides, especially the TNGA which is 350+ miles, so I pack to be able to make it through the ride even with some of the major issues. I also really never unpack the emergency part of my backpack, so I always carry all of the weird stuff that would help in that situation. Along with extra tubes, a pump, CO2, an extra presta valve core and an extra tubeless presta valve, I also carry a curved upholstery needle and kevlar fishing line in order to stitch up a large tear in a sidewall. If that happens, I just stitch up the tire, then put a tube in. After the ride I will simply leave the sewing in the tire and patch the tire from the inside and revert the tire back to tubeless. I have put more than 1000 miles on a rear tire after putting stitches into the sidewall and internal patching. It works like a charm.
