Opinion: Paying it Forward
Sad but true. In Germany trail building is striktly verboten on public domain.

First Ride: Nicolai Mojo GeoMetron
"Enduro" blew away everybodies mind. What if your going 30mls on more or less flat singletrails with some nice climbs and some gnarly, fast descents. Can you roll fast on the flat sections, climb with ease AND have a confident inspiring descender? If you can spend so much cash better stick with a slacked out 29er, like my TransSmuggler or an EvilFollowing if you can spend the extra bucks. And get yourself a real descender...

Do Flat Pedals Win (more) Medals? Have Your Say...
I usally ride clipless on my 29er trail bike and flats on my freeride bike especially when riding in bike parks. Three weeks ago i thought i give clipless a try on the freeride bike too. Better pedaling and less risk for bad pedal strokes... It turned out as a bad idea: Went to short on a gap and got a bad rebound kick. Beside some other stupid mistakes i couldn't get ridof my bike and went over the bars violently. I don't think the clipless pedals where the reason i broke both my arms. But for riders that don't chase for seconds and go more safely flats and chin guards are the better option. Because when you fail pushing away your bike is much moe easy and that gives you maybe one more option to avoid desaster.

Video: Kovarik Racing Rider Development Team
maybe mr. kovaric ist so deep in his personal comfort zone going with the kids that he does not have to care about body armour. but what about the kids? choosing the wrong line through the rock garden, smash their ellbow or shoulder bad racing career can be over in the blink of an eye. why not wear a neck brace? i smashed myself bad and broke some bones, but without gloves, ellbowguards, hipguards and spine protector things would be much much worse. i really don´t understand this idiotic rebell style , same thing with new school snowboarders railing icy pipes or blazing tree runs without helmet. history knows what happens to the heroic gaulles fighting only with tattoos and crazy hairs against the perfectly organized and armoured roman legions: anihilation. so why not teaching the kids not only to be fast but show some responsibility for themselfs - and others?

Bontrager Line Elite Wheelset - Review
I rode Hope evo Pro2 hubs, Sapim CX-Rays and Ryde Trace En for about 1,5 years 70% trail/20% freeride/10% Bikepark on my 180mm Rotwild. I think if you are a real aggressive ripper who likes to go at warp speed in rocky terrain they´re a no go. didn´t have any issues with the wheelsset except that lots of guys told me due to the very low rimhook of the Ryde Trace En burlier tires like Maxxis 2-plys and even Schwalbes SG pop of when ridden hard. So it is more like a wheelset for XC/Trail. But - for the price of one bontrager wheelset you can buy another one with e.g. spanks subrose rims.
