Here we are in Reeth, England for the Santa Cruz Ard Rock Enduro, supported by Maxxis. The event takes place on 100% natural, rock-strewn and rough terrain only rideable in the event! The event has been cancelled the past two years for hiccups of biblical proportions - floods and a plague. But despite the weather warnings - they are back!

There’s zero trail centre kitty litter at Ard Rock, just ancient trails and paths with more flowing, steep and technical riding under your wheels than you can shake a stick at. The entire route will be purpose marked for the event and offers a ‘once only’ opportunity to hit up some unique natural rocky zones. But be warned, the Ard Rock stages contain a mixture of flat out fast gullies, off-road tracks, steep rocky chutes and technical single tracks that demand a good level of skill and fitness…

Saturday’s Ard Rock Enduro was the headline event for competent riders who really care about their position, and posting the fastest times! Let's see what went down...

 What it looks like is completely irrelevant. What it actually was, is a fantastic weekend riding bikes, drinking beers with mates old and new. There was a fantastic atmosphere all weekend, despite the somewhat chargeable British weather.

 Its so hot and dry in the UK that its safer to ride an open face helmet.

 @drjonnywonderboy:at first I was like "the UK, hot and dry? Ha!" But then I saw the UK Drought Portal (eip.ceh.ac.uk/apps/droughts), and realized that its as droughty as Albuquerque right now (droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap.aspx)

 @dreamlink87: it was a joke. It rains a lot here. I did find i crashed a lot less on my first trip to the alps when I took my body armour off though. I was crashing because I was overheating

 @drjonnywonderboy: haha gotcha. We wear full faces in all weather down in Australia, but yes when it’s really hot I will ride stuff that doesn’t require body armour.

 Loads of people WERE wearing them.. but not mandatory here in Enduro races.
I've got one, but raced here (at Ard Rock) in a normal lid...
