Video: 11 Year Old Vinci Vodan Smashes the Leogang World Cup Track

by UR Team

Vinci Vodan is just 11 years old but he isn’t afraid of going full gas on the Leogang World Cup track!

While the rest of the team is confined at home in either Australia, the UK or Canada, little shredder Vinci Vodan is taking full advantage of school being closed and bike parks opening around his hometown. He has been shredding the Leogang World Cup track and reporting back to us so we can be ready for World Champs! Wink

1:54 good to see Joeys stopping in the middle of the track isn't just a Whistler thing.

 It's an everywhere thing

yeah...like not just in the middle, rather in the freaking middle of the sketchiest part haha but I believe I heard someone of the guys saying sorry after the got overtaken. still dangerous though!

I dont get it!!!...... people think of all the best places to stand and scope stuff out is right in the middle of the track.

 "OIDA!"

Watching this I'm wondering how anyone can go any faster on this track. That was nuts.

Ok, I officially can't keep up with children, time to buy an e-bike.
  • 5 0
Christ, even on an ebike & going uphill, maybe hard to keep up to some of these kids these days...lol. I thought Vinci was going to stop or at least slow down and gather himself after that bit of a bad nose dive after landing that huge jump, but it looked like it hardly fazed him (absolutely fearless). I wish we had BMX and mountain bikes back when I grew up as a kid, as we had to ride CCM bikes with sissy bars, sparkly banana seats and chopped front ends. Even the skateboards at this time were pointy at both ends at leaned like a 70's cadillac on a race track. Luckily I was able to ride dirt bikes for many of my younger years and have been riding MTB's forever now, so this has allowed me to still be able to have fun hitting jumps at my age. However watching some of these young kids like Vinci really puts things into perspective, including us older riders...Go Vinci Go!

 Rad footage regardless of age.

 I quit!!

I wish I had access to at least a tiny bit of what the kids have nowadays. Maybe wouldn't have turned out such a worthless sack of dung on the riding front.
  • 6 0
Wow, he knows how to ride a bike! Also I'm pretty impressed as it looks like he'd done it top to bottom in one piece. It's not the longest track, but hey, good fitness as well
  • 8 0
There are actually a couple of cuts in the video...nice riding though
  • 10 3
Someone get this kid a new bike and a better rear wheel already! That back end was all over the place!
  • 1 0
Yeah he needs a downhill bike if he's going to do that stuff
  • 10 3
Kids have no fear or concept of danger. Are you surprised?
  • 18 2
He seemed unphased by almost dying on that big double. I'd say that's mildly concerning.

We can always start a gofundme page if that time comes.

I think we should reintroduce the guillotine for the people who stand on track. At least try to get out of the way instead of just freezing there

World cup track at world cup speed.. kid was literally floating in the air on those jumps. Wow.

Too early in the morning to be watching this without a second cup of coffee, i'm exhausted just watching. That kid is awesome.

That kid rides like he's never experienced the pain of crashing before!

 Yeah...well...you know...it's just like...your opinion manSmile Smile

I would get my kid almost anything besides a mountain bike. To think of all the life changing trauma a lot of the people i know have been through and then to imagine that all happening to someone that kids age.
There’s a lot more to life than sending it.
  • 1 0
Yeah but mountain biking is fun and if you don't let them experience it they'll never know if they like it or not
Also what do you mean by life changing trauma?
  • 1 0
I was in his whole ride until the air at 3:33 - way beyond even my wannabe ability and it turned into a video game. WOW.

Also: super-surprised this kid is not wearing a LEATT-type neck/chest protector. Do you eventually get to a point where that stuff holds you back or something?
  • 1 0
 yes
Neck braces suck d**k
I wore it 1 time and i thought i would crash the whole way down
I couldn't see things that i needed to see
I feel like i would hurt myself more with a neck brace than without one if it causes me to crash it's not helping

Good job pb....these comments wont go to his head or anything...given all his resources, I would say hes just good...not amazing. I would expect him to be better than most kids with all the support he gets. He definitely has better support than most. At his age, I still had a hand me down - literally pink bike. Dont build his ego too much, and he may end up even better. He could also lose interest in getting better and just become egotistical and turn into a turd. Also, keep Martin Whitley away from him...

 Impressive....most impressive!

...Obi-Wan has taught you well . You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.

This is yet one more proof, that we have been riding bikes that are way too small. People get hysterical about a little longer wheelbase etc. Look at the proportions between this kid and his bike ffs.
  • 9 1
Hmm I dont know.. i mean, looking at how much hes being thrown around I would say that the bike could be too big as hes more a passenger than pilot on some sections. Dont missunderstand me, I still think hes pretty good for his age.
  • 2 1
@TurboTorsten: I was talking about us adults in general. This kid can hold his own on this size of a bike, It's his low bodyweight that holds him back. Us adults we don't have that issue so we can easily handle big bikes. I'm going on about this because I have a size XL bike and it still feels too small for me at 186 cm.
  • 1 1
I don’t get the neg props you’re receiving. It’s a fair statement. People close to 6’ claiming 29 is too big to have fun, get poppy, throw style over tires a mere 1.5” smaller while this kid has plenty of style and seems to do ok controlling a bike that would be equivalent to me riding 40” wheels.
  • 4 0
 Wow, that kid has skills!

Great camera angle and man, stabilizer tech has evolved! That looked great and great riding too ????????

You could have told me that was a video of Loic in blue kit looking shorter because of the video and in would have 100% believed it. That kid sends.
