Video: Joe Breeden’s Winning Run from the Psychosis DH - Crankworx BC 2021

Coming off the back of a bronze at the Crankworx downhill in Sun Peaks Joe was starting to find his flow and then add in a steep track like Psychosis which he feels at home on and you have a recipe for gold. Joe put down a winning time of 11:37.539 with over 7 seconds separating him from the rest of the field. The worst bit of it? The shoey at the end! The track has been known as one of the hardest in the world so huge congrats to Joe for now being part of the legends that won this race.

1 minute in and my hands would no longer work. This is madness.

That's like the first time the go pro video makes steep look REALLY steep...

11 minutes 37 seconds of pinning it. WOW. Absolute banger run. Congrats Joe!! p.s. Major GoPro effect going on here...that Deaddog start is steep AF and loose.

It was definitely hard to get a sense until I noticed all the standing spectators looked like they where laying down with their heads up hill. Unreal.

think he might've broken the sound barrier after that road gap

Omg. That was incredible to watch. It's pretty much blind racing, at the red line and warp speed.

 It just keeps going.

Did Jesse Melamed win this last year on an enduro race bike? If so, I would guess he made his time in the bike push section. If you could pedal that I bet you could save 10 seconds.

That was as Loooooong Win, congrats Joe "Breather"

Love that there's a section where he PUSHES his bike uphill. Serious variety of terrain.... wonder if anyone had enough in tank to run it?

its steep to ride up. the fastest rider had to run it. i've seen people pedal it but they were no faster than just getting off and running up. but my crowd was more of a high five, drink a beer after the climb kinda crowd. we were also a change of underpants after dead dog crowd, so my take on the overall might be biased.

Looked like a well marshalled event , one on the start gate and one at the finish !

At 4:10 I'd be laying down staring at the clouds until my lungs stopped burning, at 7:00 my legs would no longer work

@swenzowski: Poutine land is actually in Qc, haven't found the real deal yet in BC

@gnartar123: That's such a shame, I hope at least you have your fair share of beavers, maple syrup, and toques

This is nerding out a bit, but so is calling a beanie a toque, so here goes:
The start of the race is at 1946.1m and the finish line is 789.9. The vertical relief is 1156.2m, but there is 58.48m of uphill, most of it all at once, but there 2 more short climbs. So the total amount of descending after gaining the additional vert is 1214.7m. I could go for a beaver tail.
