First day at Crankworx on a soaked track was pure entertainment with some loose cannons going for broke and staying upright down the 'larches' section and some getting a little too rowdy, sending into to the bushes.
Just part of the sport. Conditions like this would get me killed. I watch guys ride in all these world cup races and more than half are wet and slick it seems. I honestly don't like riding in conditions like this. Stressful as hell.
I find riding in these sorts of conditions really fun, the lack of predictable grip makes you have to focus a lot more, but it's also really rewarding. That being said, I would struggle to ride almost any world cup DH track in the dry, But once you get used to these conditions it's not that much harder, just a lot slower.
I have had my ass handed to me so many times in Roto in these conditions. I makes me smile to watch the best of the best sliding around like that. That track is a killer dry riding it that wet is a joke.
Looking forward to the Air DH.
