Early 1990’s Shogun Prarie Breaker Team Issue 26”MTB racing frame. 17” Prestige Cromoly Double butted frame, with that springy responsiveness Tange racing tube sets are known for. This is a high quality, hand crafted Japanese frame, with unique cable routing(see pics) and an 1 1/8 head tube. 26.6 seatpost sizing and 68 mm standard threaded BB. Cantilever posts, 135mm dropouts. Frame is in great shape, no rust issues or dents. Paint is good(section of top tube-see pics- has 2” of old hockey tape and a thin coat of rattle can green paint over the stock paint-it peels off easy to the original paint with some elbow grease.) This frame would make a sweet all rounder-from trail riding, to commuting, to gravel riding-these old frames will do it all. 19” Pro Flex 752. Shimano DX 3x7 drivetrain with XT rapid fire+shifters & rear derailleur , XT brake levers with grip shift front. Deore DX hubs on Mavic 231/Sun chinook rims in good shape. Bike shifts and brakes well, all bearings feel good, newer Specialized middle ring/Sachs 8 series chain, Shimano cassette with very little use and Kool stop brake pads. Panaracer Smoke/Dart tires almost unused and in good shape for vintage. Bike is good mechanical shape with most original parts, great for restoration, just needs an elastomer in the rear to be ready to go ($60-$100). Front 1 1/4” Flexstem works and feels great. 1997 Stumpy, 18”, M2 (metal matrix composite alloy) frame, designed and hand welded in USA. Original group includes Ritchey rear hub, Specialized traxle OS front hub laced to Ritchey/Mavic rims, round and true. Shimano XT 3x8 group with Avid 1.9l brake levers running Avid 2.0 v brakes. Specialized crank, stem and Prolong saddle with Ritchey Forcelite bar, seatpost and spd pedals. RockShox Judy XC looks great and works smoothly. Bike is very lightly ridden and in excellent shape. New rear shift cable and housing and aftermarket Ritchey brake pads make it shift and stop perfectly. 24.5lbs on my fishing scale. Rides perfect and looks great! A classic 26” racer for those who want one.
