King of Crankworx seems like a attendance contest. I think that all the good riders probably actually do world cup events or slope style events or actually dedicated events. Pump track is lame. bmx racing or 4 cross were way more interesting and displayed way more skin and technique.
In a way you're right. I think the purpose is to give riders incentive to compete in events they don't necessarily specialize in, but it does sort of devolve into an attendance contest.
