Danny Hart, Morgane Charre & More on the Entry List for the Snow Bike World Championships
@CamNeelyCantWheelie: That race was one of the toughest things I've ever done on a bike and also the most fun. The people who were actually fast were crazy to watch. Definitely need more places doing it.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: The Real Bike Weights from PB Editors
@TheSlayer99: Upstate NY blue XC trail is a little tougher than lower Michigan black trail if that gives you a reference. Unless you're talking about a metroparks trail, in which case anything beyond two-track/gravel is rated black. The bikes in this article would be miserable for most of the Midwest, where XC bikes rule and EXO+ qualifies a downhill casing. It's all about low rolling resistance to keep speeds up and nimble bikes to make the flat terrain interesting.

Pinkbike Editors' Christmas 2022 Wish Lists: Workshops, XL MX Bikes... & Better Cheese?
Have you tried having a boot re-soled or modified to play nice with a flat pedal? I worked with a local cobbler to knock lugs off a logger sole until it played nicely with a flat pedal in mid-foot position, and it's great for fat biking/snow trudging, but no reason they couldn't get crazier and use a wedge sole for riding with the pedal more forward, or add a section of rock climbing rubber (ala OG 510s). Just have to work the tradeoff between pedal interface and hiking traction. Also let's you buy the boot independent of the pedal interface, or repurpose some old goodies.

Tech Tuesday: How & Why to Upgrade Your Pads and Rotors
Add Magura to be the garbage stock pad list. Even if you do get them to work right after the obscene long bedding procedure, they'll soon be worthless again because they're so sensitive to contamination that breathing near them will glaze the pads. Can be fixed with Jagwire, MTX, or Galfer pads. Alternatively you could avoid the faffing and just buy Hayes or TRP.

Abbey Bike Tools Celebrates 10 Years with Titanium & Walnut
Anybody take one look at a chain whip, think it was dumb, then go grab the 1/2" electric impact and 1" socket out of the garage? Just me? No need for a chain whip when you can throw a rag over the cassette and pull the trigger on the rattle gun. Then let the driver hold the cassette and use a torque wrench to install.
