Tech Spotlight - Brake Piston Balancing
the seals are already in contact with the brake fluid on the inside anyhow so I can't see why easing the passage of the piston home by using fluid should cause any extra problems..the majority is wiped off by the tight fit anyhow, Also both brake fluids ARE lubricants to a certain extent. Finally the retraction of the piston relies on the drag between seals and piston so as long as both sides are cleaned and lubed equally it should make no difference or create any imbalance ,,if it does have an effect I can only see it reducing the retraction distance very slightly. Just my opinion.
