2007 Kawasaki Ninja ex650R This is a great bike for an intermediate rider, or a beginner that doesn't want to upgrade after the first season. This was the perfect bike for me for the following reasons: 1) It is light enough that at low speeds I could handle it easily (I never dropped it), but it's burly enough that it's stable through wind gusts from a dump-truck passing the other way at highway speeds. 2) It's powerful enough that there was always more throttle when I asked for it, but it's not so powerful to throw me if I grabbed a little too much throttle. 3) It has a standard riding position, which I found both comfortable, and easy to control the bike.
