PRESS RELEASE: Wood River Trails Coalition

The Wood River Trails Coalition (WRTC), in collaboration with Kona Bikes, Sync Vans and Club Ride, is raffling off a Kona Process 134 CR 29, a Dometic 40 Electric Cooler and $250 gift certificate from Club Ride in support of the WRTC’s mission: to create, maintain and sustain trails for all users. Like your local trail association, the WRTC is a scrappy, resourceful organization who thrives on $10 donations.

The WRTC is a trail stewardship organization based in the Sun Valley, ID area, a community that boasts over 400 miles of singletrack trails literally out the backdoor. Sun Valley is a mecca for mountain biking, hiking, dirt biking, horseback riding and many other outdoor pursuits. While Sun Valley is famous for its skiing, summer recreation on its abundant public lands is challenging winter’s offerings as the area’s claim to fame.

The WRTC works to get more tools in the dirt and boots on the ground. We have a three-pronged approach: recruit and train skilled volunteers, support local professional trail crews and finance new trail projects. Those three focus areas keep us busy!

The need for trail maintenance and long term planning for projects never goes away. We are raising $20,000 to support our 2020 goals, which includes recruiting 50 new volunteers, completing 600 hours of volunteer trail work, funding 50 miles of professional trail maintenance and building a nest egg for future projects.

A $10 raffle ticket supports these efforts. You can support trails from the comfort of your home and maybe even win a brand new bike! It’s a win-win for all. Thank you!

Our raffle closes on midnight of September 6th, 2020.

As a native to Idaho, its great to witness more trail advocates and mountain biking associations working hard to create and maintain trail networks. With such a huge tax base and million/billionaires in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area, its hard to believe funding is needed. Go figure. Cheers to the WRTC efforts and donors!
