Round Up: 25 Different XC World Cup Tire Combinations
I ran Ikons for a 2:15 at last years Iceman, slid around a bit but I don’t think any tire would’ve helped in that mud. After 5000 people stomp the course the pro class gets the worst of it. On the open sections it really helps to have a fast roller, the speeds get ridiculous in pacelines.

All new never used parts are take-off from a specialized, so roval aluminum wheels, bars, seatpost, and stem. Reba 100mm fork. SRAM Level TL brakes, 180f 160r. SRAM NX 12sp drivetrain 11-50 cassette, Stylo crankset 32t. Awesome bike, can be built super XC light or down country burly, and fits a water bottle inside the frame.

@lehott: you ever meet any pro ball sport folks? NFL, NBA, NBL peeps are a different breed, practically untouchable. There’s a new sexual/physical/drug abuse claim every other week and it’s shrugged away. Even in cycling there are a few big heads for some reason. I guess I’m just impressed when somebody (semi)famous will hold a conversation with me.

Having met Chloe a few times at Iceman, I have to say she is one of the most down to earth and friendly professional athletes you can imagine. Maybe someday XC won’t be a niche sport and these guys and gals will get the recognition they deserve. Sweet bike, btw.

He was my teammate on a local XC race squad. Easily the fastest most humble guy you could ever meet. Rips on road, CX, XC, DH, BMX, anything with two wheels. Funny how people say mean things for no reason, hope it made you feel less jealous.

Specialized Epic Expert XL
$1400 USD2013 white Epic Expert, XL. Carbon frame aluminum subframe. New 1070 cassette, 38t Raceface NW chainring and chain. Newer Easton 100 mm stem, carbon seatpost, SLX brakes. XTR rear derailure, SLX shifter 10sp, will throw in front derailure/shifter, 24t chainring and 42t giant cog. Has heel and cable/hose rub on frame and some scratches. Fork and shock newly serviced, all rear sus bearings replaced in ‘15, fork may need rebuilt soon, as there are some scuffs on sanctions as pictured. Great bike. Pedals not included, and will swap seat for a new wtb volt.

Banned in the USA: Part 2
My local trails have separate horse and mtb trails with a few intersections and shared connecters. Bikes yield to horses because they are less intelligent. The horse trails are double track, rutted, full of shit and the mtb trails are fun technical singletrack so I stay where I belong. Often there are horse apples and deep huff prints on some mtb specific trails and it makes me mad. But then I see a bikini clad girl riding a horse mid trot and all is forgiven, while some self righteous hiker is yelling at me to get back on the road

Pinkbike Poll: Are You Prepared For a Medical Emergency?
My worst crash to date was in an xc race, several friends and countless participants passed my nonsensical concussed ass on the side of the trail. I came to 14 miles later convinced I was nicki minaj. Tore my sagital band in my finger and still don't remember what happened. Point is, I had no idea where (or who) I was, no one had a phone, and despite 200 some people the only help would have been an emergency rescue helicopter if a race course marshal had been alerted and deemed it necessary. Finished the race though, and have a new appreciation for hip hop and the color pink
