Shimano Prototype Chainguide Debuts at Sea Otter
Yes, a rotating bash guard...because that's how all bash guards bolted to a crank work. Shimano cut the excess that doesn't do anything off. And if you bolt one to the other side of the crank, full bash protection with either foot forward and lighter weight.

First Look: Carbon Gravity Gradient Components
These don't look like they are aimed at the competitive racing market. These look more like they are meant to be abused. Also, that sticker saying non-rideable...it's probably an engineering sample that they can throw into stress tests. Most likely perfectly rideable, just not tested yet.

That defeats the purpose of protecting the carbon from damage. Plastic cheaper, and it's more resilient to impact damage and scraping.

VP Prototype Pedals - Sea Otter Day 3
I liked DexterH's explanation, but charvey9, thinner pedals won't give you a longer pedal stroke. you could have a pedal a foot tall and the platform would still spin around in a 340mm diameter circle (with 170mm cranks). it would just be incredibly unstable.

Leatt DBX Pro Carbon 2011- First Look
Am I the only one who has a problem with this guy's writing skill? I know we're on the internet but that should be no excuse for a product review article. Proper grammar helps readers read a story. It looks like he banged this out in 15 minutes without even proofreading it. Back to the brace, yeah it's nice but not something to spend $600 on. The Ride should be good enough. I have the EVS brace similar to the Leatt braces. It fits well both when riding my moto and my pedal bike, it wasn't more than $200, and fits with my chest protector.
