Oof! We rode Portal in Moab in the dark once (it's a long, not interesting story). That was uh, a unique experience to say the least...!

Burning Question: How Do We Get More Women To Work in the Bike Industry?
@sugaranddirt: Yes, this! I have yet to find one that fits well, mostly without sliding down too much. It's wild there are almost no options out there.

Burning Question: How Do We Get More Women To Work in the Bike Industry?
@wasea04: I appreciate and agree with most of your comment. Though I will say, it's a slippery slope to say that identity is preceding agency, especially when men are straight up saying they'd rather have a male tech look at their bike, which happens an alarmingly frequent amount. That is exactly the point though, that the majority of men do not experience a bias based on their gender to the extent that women do, so it can be hard for men to relate. But as you said, removing barriers and encouraging/supporting women is the best course of action.

Seriously though, being able to justify eating whatever I want for the sake of calories on long rides is the best!!!

Burning Question: How Do We Get More Women To Work in the Bike Industry?
The reality is that this is a massive problem for women in the industry. More women don't work in the industry, because it sucks. Most men cannot relate to having your skills or expertise doubted or overlooked purely because of some bias towards your gender. Even worse, majority of the men that question my ability as a tech are the same men that cannot even change their own tube or point out a derailleur. Saying this does not matter, or that no one cares, is the sincerest form of privilege. It matters to the people that are impacted nearly every day by this in the industry. Not everyone's hot take or opinion matters. Instead, listen to the people that are impacted by this and learn. Call out this behavior. That is part of how we will change things.

Guerrilla Gravity's Less Expensive, US-Made Carbon Frame
Yeah, because they're sick bikes, and they've truly done something different and potentially revolutionary. I've been a GG loyalist for several years now, and I never, ever thought I would say "yay carbon", but because of their process and after experiencing the bikes, I am sold. Sure the common concerns with carbon still exist, but the point is that their manufacturing process, new carbon composite, and the toughness of the frame, in addition to the fact that they are actively working towards recycling plans AND have a low cost/made in the USA, will hopefully eliminate these with the carbon they are introducing.
