There is a small window in the Colorado high country when the trail conditions are perfect. Some would call it fall, but nature is fickle here - often the warm days of summer push up against the sting of winter. In the high country, cold winds blow and snow dusts the peaks. Lower in the valley, aspens drop their leaves and cover the trails in a vibrant carpet of red, gold, and orange. Motivated by the oncoming threat of winter and the desire for one last chance to ride the state’s best single track, Yeti Ambassadors Michael Larsen, Shawn Neer, and Rudy Unrau hit the road to enjoy Colorado’s peak season.

It may not have tricks, or helicopters filming helicopters, but that video really captured how fun it is to ride a bike with your friends. Video of the year in my books.

it's relate-able and that's what makes it the ideal MTB video.

Yes..... I hate these 3 guys, they ride too fast and make me want to buy a Yeti......... But damn what a sweet vid!!

Yeti always puts out cool vids like this

Best real-life riding I've seen in a while! And I want a Yeti too! Send me one of your "old" SB66C, I know what I'll do! Smile

I second video of the year! broke my ankle in 2 places almost 3 weeks ago (12 weeks of no riding) and this video sums up what i find myself missing the most just heading out for a spin with my friends for the day. Which I will appriciate 1000 times more when im back riding again. I would love to be in a forest surrounded by snow like that on my bike another 1 for the bucket list for sure. outstanding video which anyone from a newcomer to a pro rider can relate too.

Looks like great biking in a wonderful area. Have wanted to get to CB for some time, this doesn't help.

Horrible video... pilots too much lucky...it's so sweet to hate these dreaming rides!
  • 5 4
How do they ride without out knee pads. Going that speed crashing hard on a rock could mean you don't ride again. I could never do that I feel naked with out having my knees padded

Amazing vid and incredible bikes. I ride an SB66 and absolutely love it. Enduro, xc, bike park- just change tires and you are set. Super durable too- I break bikes and my yeti has been bullet proof so far. Go tribe.

I've made Crested Butte an annual retreat for the past 5 years and this video truly captures why!! Plus the town and people of CB are awesome too. Nice job Joey! Loved your "4 Peaks in a day" edit too, I have to imagine the singletrack climb up 401(a) from Schofield Pass was a bit challenging in that weather, no? Any Reno/Flag/Bear/Deadman's Gulch?
  • 4 0
CB is the best place in the state to ride no doubt! We didn't hit any Reno/Flag/Bear/Deadman's Gulch on this trip but those are also some of my favorite trails. Too much to chose from!

If you live and ride in Colorado, then the CB area has to be a yearly pilgrimage, no doubt. I love it there, especially in the fall. When the snow came in on the 401 trail, we had actually climbed up in perfect sunny blue sky weather and then the first blizzard of the year came in and nailed us! Classic colorado weather.

Love CB! Heading back next summer. What trail was that kicker on? The bike park?

What a beautiful Mt, great town, and nice people in CB. What a gem. It's green in more ways than one.

CB represent! Best place to live for biking in Colorado

Rode the 401 this summer- easily one of my favorite trails of the summer, up there with Slick Rock and Monarch Crest and some of the beauties out by Boulder. Seriously captured why I love mtn biking so much

Even tough it is advertising...finally a video that really touched me. I mean I find many videos here more than great but this one really made sense for my soul. And besides having fun mountain biking is really something that connects personally myself to my soul. Seasons, beautiful trails, smiles on people face and just riding with good friends - this video has it all...i wish i can get there one day. Reminds me a movie Life Cycles a little bit - great one it was as well.

Makes my day a bit more easier to deal with Wink

The slow mo manual shots showed some completely scarless shins. These guys must have been clipped in since birth.
  • 5 0
Stoke meter is red lining!!! Dam you for putting out a great vid with going into ski season.
  • 4 0
Every photo/video article Yeti puts out is simply amazing, and this piece lives up to or perhaps surpasses that very high quality precedent. Thanks guys!
  • 6 0
Heyyy Michael Larsen! Good surprise to see you ripping on Pinkbike.
  • 4 0
 Larsen shreds!
  • 1 0
Trust me, I know. We used to train/race together in high school. Love seeing shred buddies being successful at shredding.

 Shawn Neer shreds!
  • 7 0
 That's an understatement.

Guys, do you want to adopt me? So, I can return back to Colorado? Smile I spent three winter seasons in Colo, back then when I was more a skier than mtber and I loved every day and every hour. Now, I am more on my bike then on skies (obviously as I live in UK Wink ) I know that Colo has pretty much everything to offer and I want BACK!!!! . Great vid btw.

Tried to get an engineering internship with these guys, well Yeti, for next summer, really wish that would've worked out. Went to their HQ and got the tour of the place, super awesome atmosphere and people!!

Stokage is at an all time high!

Been going to CB for 13 years and it's a gem in the mountains to ride in. Many of the mountains there are somewhat accessible to summit with a bike also!

Damn, I never wanted this article or video to END!
  • 3 0
Haha thanks man. I never wanted the trip to end.
  • 3 0
I would have clipped my bars on not one, but ALL of those trees. Probably why I'm not featured in any sweet edits.

So fortunate to have the Elks and West Elks as my back yard.
  • 4 0
Absolutely. In my mind the best riding in the state is in the Elks.
  • 5 0
 Agreed. So many great trails.
  • 3 0
Did you guys hit Doctor Park?
  • 6 0
Yes! Growing up in Colorado, Doctor's Park has always been my favorite trails. It was great to get to film with the fall colors there. A true CO classic.
  • 1 0
Awesome. Great pictures. Glad the video wasn't all slow mo! Everything in this post is why I plan on moving to CO in a couple years. Bikes and Beauty. Nicely done!
  • 3 0
 Nice camera work and riding!
  • 3 1
You guys killed it!! Holy shit that was rad. Neer you're insane. Joey your filming is too sick!

Gonna be hitting up western state college out there just for this haha
  • 2 0
 Well played.
  • 9 1
I hope you like cowboys and a complete lack of women.
  • 1 0
Haha maybe I could hit up Boulder. I know they like to party
  • 5 1
Boulder is great but that's where everyone goes. Don't overlook Fort Collins either. Both like to party, both have the womenz, and both have amazing biking scene. Either is a much better education than Western State.
  • 1 0
Western's Cycling team isn't a club sport, like it is at Boulder and CSU, so they get more funding. Cool guys coaching too. I ride for CU, but love the Western kids. Follow your heart, not the party!
  • 1 0
PS. You'll get a great education at Western too - depends on what your major is for sure, but don't bash Western lorax.
  • 1 0
Boulder is sweet, awesome trails in the mountains and a bike park in town.
  • 2 0
Yeah I love western because it's so close to CB for great biking and skiing. I heard they also have a pretty great geology branch which sounds interesting
  • 1 0
Yes, Western does have a pretty good geology department, and nobody is going to stop you from going there. I was just giving you a heads up on the culture. Lots of farmers and cowboys. CSU Fort Collins has a much better geology program in my opinion. Anything Natural Resources related, Fort Collins dominates other Colorado schools. I might be a little biased though because I got my degree in that department. I went to high school with Matt Larsen (in this video) and he went to CU Boulder. I'm sure he'd tell you to go there. Go wherever you get accepted to that has the best program for what you want to study.

That said, this is completely off topic from how great this video was.
  • 1 0
I will say, getting to skiing from Western is much closer than from CU or CSU. Getting to Crested Butte in a blizzard can be very difficult though.
  • 1 0
Thanks lorax this is making me think about some different things and where I'd want to be at
  • 1 0
 No problem.
  • 2 0
Killing it Rudy! Looking better then ever.
  • 1 0
Good to see he's still got it after his big accident for sure!

  • 1 0
I got goosebumps watching that Doctor's Park segment. Man, I sure love that trail. Sure miss CO.
  • 1 0
Not long enough, nice riding fellas. Nothing like riding in a couple inches of snow.
  • 1 0
To be honest the yellow frame just dosn't look right.
  • 1 0
Yeah Shawn Neer! Finally getting some recognition!
  • 1 0
Where can we get that clothing from?
  • 3 2
sadly no more sb66, all upgraded.
  • 6 0
Upgrade your bike not your wife! Its a happy and cheaper solution.

 Awesome. Love CB.
