The X-Files in HD

The Forestry Commission in all their wisdom thought that they could stop mountainbikers from using and enjoying the trails by trying to destroy them. Here's me proving them wrong. Please watch to show your support against such acts of vandalism to trails. Riding and editing: Russell gould (me) Filming: William Pile .. The screen may be grey but I can assure you it's quite good :)

Thanks stefan, much appreciated! our filiming is grdually getting better so we will deffo take on board what you've said but the only reason we didn't use a tripod is that I couldn't actually be arsed to lug mine around all day! yeah, with this vid we just wanted to get the whole of the run (in order) in the vid and seeming as there's quite a bit to it there was always going to be a lot of clips, but now we've done this one we can make it more jumpy etc.. but the filmer getting closer to the riding is a great idea but at 2.20 I think we got a little close as i genuinely nearly killed will with by bars.. just edited it out Razz

nice video, i like it. but as i love you russ, im going to give a bit of constructive criticism. first, at the beggining-middle, there were too many floor shots, as i i didnt actualy see your face until the berm gap. secondly i can see that it took you a lot of time to film it, as there are too many clips, somtimes its good to keep it short and jumpy but then you have to weigh it out a bit with some longer clips too. lastly i would recomend the filmer to use a tripod next time, and use less zoom, when trying to get up close, actualy get close, not use zoom as the picture is more steady then. this is my overall feeling, however, as i said befor, i still like it, makes friston look nice

nice, i heard they broke the track down again, i understand why the people get pissed at the mountain bikers, their must be a 1000 redbull , monster and relentness can all over the place. Frown

that gives them plenty of incentive to tear down our tracks,
We should either get a bin up there or everyone should just take their rubbish back with them.

nice video by the way!

thanks... they actually took the track down to stop them getting sued if anyone hurts themselves on it as they can say that they got rid of it and that you shouldn't be riding it. but with the litter it brings up the catch 22 that exists aroung friston. put out bins and it gets rid of the litter but it says that it's ok to ride the trails. Don't put out bins and the litter stays and grows but the trails will still be ridden. i think the forrestry commission just need to admit deafeat against mtb, they can't stop people riding there.. whatever they do!

Thank you and thank you again Big Grin Yeah the helmet is a japanese style, one of my favourite the helmet designs Smile but the trail is a undergoing a constant battle with the forestry commission who keeping knocking bits down and we keep rebuilding it!

Thats terrible the froestry commission is unable to correlate with bikers! If they supplied a spot of land for a trail and gave you the permession to build and make an awesome trail it will help suppor the mountain and give riders a place to have fun! Instead there is just a meaningless fight going on!
Good luck mate, I would help but Im in Japan!!
I have one trail that I have been building for 4 years now and its on land that was given to us for riding!! check it out!

That trail looks sick! wish ours were a bit more like that :/ .. but half the problem is that the trails those trails are technically illegal! There are designated marked out, signposted and graded singletracks throughout the forest but those are really boring! The dh stuff has been there on the steep side of the forest for ages but never officially and there are those who don't pick up their rubbish which makes the situation worse for all of us! They tear things down so that they can say they got rid of the trail and if people fall off and try to sue them they can't becuase they techinically got rid of it and they'll just say you shouldn't have been riding it!
It's a difficult one but stuff is being built over the winter, but this time built more into the landscape so they can't get rid of it and if people just learned to take their litter home then things may be ok!
