I want to see more high speed compression! too much goes into low speed which isnt necessary for most gravity riders! More high speed bottomless travel please!

The RP23 is more of an XC platform so they optimize it for that, not for us huck monkeys

Yes, but on my transition double which fits a 1.5 inch stroke shock the rp23 just blew through the travel. I now have a roco and its awesome its awesome!! Very burly and bottomless! Just I was very disappointed as I purchased the 2010 fox expecting a great shock and it was but not for us huck monkeys, hahahhhahah RidEOn!

 Float shock = XC/AM

if you wanted something for drops and jumps, you should have got the DHX air......

The DHX air is the same it bottoms out too easy! I had a DHX on my Rune! Plus the TBC double takes a 165mm shock and there is no dhx in 165mm Its all good the roco on my double is killer, just I wasted money thinking the boost valve would ride like it stated. Im just saying most bikes have a great platform in the linkage and there isnt as much need for low speed as people believe, with a supple sag and firm bottom you have fun all day with no worries. It could be Im not a XC rider too. My perspective is that of a FR dude! Thank you mate! RideOn!

I've ridden the DHX on a friends rig, it was great, maybe you're wasn't set up properly?
I don't know, not saying you're a bad mech tup

Yes, I agree the DHX and the RP23 both rode awesome! Great supple stroke but, both blew threw to a hard clank bottom off the some of the weirdest sections. All of foxes stuff is very smooth and very high quality and l love my 36 float. But the rear shocks are like you said set and aimed for XC or AM if you jump off a little ledge it bottoms which I find very hard to understand giving the set up! I think fox shock are smooth and very fluid but they should try adding some big hit progression as well. My RP23 I even had it rebuilt and they added a bottom out bumper like coil shock with an excessive amount of pressure in the IFP chamber but still bottomed out all the time! Thank you for your reply! Im now on a super smooth shock the roco. I watched the video and saw Jim explaining really hard all about the low speed but on a bike that has center tracking technology which means it need little low speed as the links take care of the movement! RideOn mate! Niko!

Well at this point the only thing I can say is that technically you should bottom out on larger hits. If you don't then you aren't using all of your travel which is just a waste. As long as the bottoming feels smooth and progressive rather than a straight fall and hit then you're good to go. As for me after having given BMX a try bottoming and feeling a bit of resistance on a landing isn't a problem. My wrists thank me for the sus

The cool thing is the roco on the double takes away all those worries! Im running 60psi lower than the fox and the roco feels like a coil! As for bottoming out an feeling it is the difference between a great suspension and not. I most likely bottom out my roco but I dont feel it! ahahahahahah As for the fox it was too evident, which I dont want to say under a fox add! Im sorry to have caused some sort of trouble! Then new fox looks killer and I have nothing to say until I try it! RideOn mate!

Good luck rebuilding that roco. Took marzocchi more than a month to get my brother's back to him and very expensive.
My rp23 is the extra volume model with a 2.5" stroke. I don't have a real bottom out problem, but it does get less reliable on fast really gnarly descents. This mod makes sense to me. Still, I want a FR shock (probably a coilover) just so I can switch up my settings when I want to do drops and jumps vs when I'm out for an all mountain ride.

Getting it done yourself! I have been in Japan for 10 years and the closet shop is an hour away so, I rebuild and custom tune all my suspension! The roco is super easy to work on. That being said so is the fox! I have rebuilt both and the fox still bottoms hard. The roco on the other hand gets the job done. I have nothing to say about the new Fox as it looks killer! Im just saying in the video I herd Jim express an awful lot about low speed compression and not enough about high speed control. Im most situations great bottom out control is what its most needed. lots of low speed is for very mellow trails or even paved roads, here in Japan I ride steep rocky DH and I love to jump or drop anything! I pray the new Fox is up to par for square edge hits and drops as thats whats matters coming down! RidEOn! I love Fox and believe in their products! I just think the highspeed compression is too dull!

I sent my RP23 back to fox here in Japan and they put a bottom out bumper inside like on a coil. If you were to have them set it up for you and your style it might be better. With the new set up the RP23 feels really good but even with the bottom out bumper when it blows through the travel it hits really harsh. Im sure you will love find a good setting for your new frame! RideOn!

I weigh 180 and I have the oversized can. My RP23 felt bottomless. Propedal failed every three months. I am selling for that reason, but the full open mode was pretty sweet.
