Hiro and I went out for a tuesday FR adventure and got eaten alive by horrendous horse flies! RideOn!

It's so good to see that you find the Durolux a fine fork bro...I read a review of the 2010 one, on Moutain Bike UK and it was a relly bad review, but then again, it's an opinion...I would love to try that baby bro, but, now, with the Van RC2 and the Float R I think I'm pretty well covered in the fork departement! Great vid. The trail suffered with some strong winds, right?

Yes, we were riding in a typhoon on this day. That why it was so dark! The winds and rain have been horrendous this year. I have the 2010 and now the 2012 durolux and love them both and thats coming from having a fox36 and many 66's which I all loved as well. I think any fork can ride like you like with some proper maintenance and set up. Every single fork and rear shock I have ever owned has needed to be taken apart and set up for my style and liking. The overhaul I did on the Durolux out of the box was the same I did to my fox. Now its a new fork so a long term test is at hand but Im confident it will be a fun fork for a couple of years. My fox I rode for 2 years then I got a big scratch in the stanchions so I retired it for now. My other Durolux is still riding great at 130mm on my HT! She is now a year and half old! ahahhahahahah Lets see for the long term test through my videos, ahahhah rideOn brother!

mate the horse flys have just come out here too.But they are big and slow so are easy to KILL...the fork is looking good bro....what difference is there so far do you think?

ps...man you would have to be one of the smoothest riders i have seen

 Thank you mate!
Your awesome!

The fork is super smooth!
As for the biggest difference in the ride and feel, its too similar to my fox to really know.
Both take the same air pressure and as the air spring is the same it feels just like the Fox.

One big difference I noticed off the bat is the fox's compression dials are really easy to turn compared to the durolux. The low speed is a little hard to turn but it works great.

Now just a long term test will give a better answer, as of now as I lowered the fork to 170mm it has the same height as the fox at 165mm so the geometry of the bike is spot on and the ride and feel is like nothing has changed but, the durolux is about 200 to 300 grams lighter!

I think that has to do with the inner legs stanchions being 35mm on the suntour and 36 on the fox?
I dont know, ahahahhahah

Take it easy with those flies, I got 4 good bites yesterday and now each spot is swollen sore and itches like crazy!

RideOn brother!

how stiff does it feel compared to the Fox ???...if it's that much lighter, works just as good and the price is right, you can't go wrong...cheers for the Durolux, I like the fact that it's new and fresh !!!

Well its an awesome fork, I have 2 now and love them, the price is awesome and the ride is superb! The wight is yes 200 to 300 grams lighter than the fox but the fox too is very light and rides nice! RideOn the Durolux!

Thanks for the info Niko. I guess I will wait until you are finished doing a long term test on both the fork and the vivid air shock. Aloha& Shaka!

RideOn brother! The fork is super smooth and so is the rear shock! An air shock feels really good, you might like it on your Demo! Aloha and Shaka!

How does the Suntour fork perform?

Did you swallow any flies?
  • + 1
I swallowed on fly perhaps I'll die! hahahahhah I have two Durolux's now one from 2010 on my HT and I loved it so much I decided to get the new 2012 version with high and low speed compression like my 36 had. Yes, the ride is awesome, super smooth, plush and takes jumps and drops very well. It was my first ride but as its the same as the old one and very similar system to my Fox 36 after one ride I know it will be an awesome fork for a fraction of the price. RideOn buddy!
