I don't have a clue what any of this means but I liked looking at the bike for 13 minutes.

All I picked up on was how they kept saying "simpler to make, easier to manufacture, and overall simpler design", yet I have a very strong feeling that come January 2015 many of us will disagree with those statements simply based off of the price.

I think this video shows us why these bikes cost what they do. It's not just the materials and manufacturing, it's the research and development that goes into it. The video showed 3 engineers/designers that were in charge. It would be pretty easy to assume that they're making at least $60-80K a year. So right there, you have a cost of around $200K just to get the thing designed, and that's not including all of the other minions involved, testing process, prototypes, physical plant, etc.
All for a bike with a very small market share. A dead sexy, bump eating, speed demon from hell bike with a small market share.
