My guess would be that they may not have had a neutral density filter for the drone? That would mean that they're using a really high shutter speed to deal with how bright it was. Fast shutter speeds can make video look a little choppy sometimes because the footage is too sharp, kind of like a video game. Human vision likes some motion blur, so when it's absent we notice things look different. Maybe @schilly could answer what his shutter speed was on the drone stuff?

@scottsecco: you nailed it Scott. In the midst of the wind/rain/snow storm that morning I forgot to throw the ND filters in the bag when loading up. I was bummed.

Could be what Scott mentioned, and also pan judder where a pan (or a camera move in the drone) is sort of in between a smooth pan and a blurred pan. www.red.com/learn/red-101/camera-panning-speed
Also when shooting in slow-motion your shutter speed naturally has to rise. So shots where it's speed ramped from slow motion to real speed will have the same effect that Scott mentioned.
Rad video though!

@schilly: Well nice work on the video anyway man! Made me want to get out and ride, which is the ultimate compliment I can think of.
Is this just on my computer, or is anyone else seeing this? I'm only asking because I like the video so much, I'd like to see the best version of it possible. Maybe a re-upload if the original is smoother?
