A tribute to true trail bosses, the deity Cryptkeeper is tailored specifically to the needs of riders who thrive on high speed big sets, to those who spend 75% of their time digging, who love the smell of damp dirt, the sound of a slapping shovel, and look upon a lip as a work of art. The creation process of the Cryptkeeper began in 2008 in a hope to develop a frame that could excel at every aspect of trail riding. From railing berms, pumping through sets, manualing through rollers, and accelerating fast out of corners, we had ridden every frame available and we knew there was significant room for improvement. There was a responsibility to do our first frame justice, to allow it to have a unique voice among the countless “do it all” style of frames on the market. In the end, how can a frame that is designed for “dirt and street” really thrive in any setting?

We are trail riders. We spend season upon season moving dirt, a collection of shovels increase every year, and with some of the most influential trail builders in our bloodline, we knew we had the opportunity to build the very best dirt jump frame on the market and we feel confident that we did just that. With 3 months in the design process, 4 prototypes, and over two years of real world abuse under the best trail riders that actually pick up shovels and earn their time on a bike, the Cryptkeeper was immediately embraced and within the first ride, showcased why it is in a class of its own.

Unlike most frames on the market that are either copied directly from the generic playbook or are better suited for a street setting than steep lips, the Cryptkeeper’s geometry is what truly gives the bike its identity, feel, and demeanor at the trails. With a 69.5 degree head angle, short rear end, a top tube that does not clip your feet, and a fast agile personality, the heart of the Cryptkeeper rests in how it positions you through big sets, the rhythm of your pump, and where your body needs to be to achieve the best center of gravity for massive sets. We did not make a slight change to a current design…we went to the drawing board and created exactly what we wanted in a perfect DJ frame. We did not leave any possibility unturned and a critical aspect to this process was the influence of BB drop and chainstay length on the rest of the geometry.

There is nothing worse than a twitchy high BB frame on trails or vice versa, a slow sluggish long frame that needs to be worked through a pack. We wanted a frame that would settle the riders weight and momentum in the pump, allow the bike to seat itself into the largest berms, and at the highest speeds, create stability in the ride. Utilizing a 25mm BB drop that positions the center of the BB, and your riding stance, 25mm below the centerline of your front and rear axles, the BB drop on the Cryptkeeper places your center of gravity at the optimal location to generate as much speed through each set and coupled with the calculated 15.25” short chainstay length, the frame’s acceleration, pop, and maneuverability makes the Cryptkeeper one of the fastest trail bikes in the world.

It is amazing what a quarter of an inch or a degree can do to affect the feel of a bike and it is not as simple as selecting the most popular numbers and putting them on paper. Each angle and measurement affects the other and to truly succeed in developing a frame, they must work harmoniously together and allow the bike to disappear from underneath you.

With an unrivaled snap out of corners, control in high speed sections, stability in berms, and aggressiveness on steep lips, the Cryptkeeper is not the average industry standard frame. It is a reflection of true dirt jumpers, riders who build it wide, tall, steep, who do not poach trails, who fix what they destroy, who pick up a shovel, a hose, and spends hours upon hours grooming their spots. It is truly a select group and for those that understand…the deity Cryptkeeper was made for you.

Welcome to deity bike co. !

What truly separates one frame from another? Is it a marketing slogan, an array of color choices, or the latest brand that you think will make you unique at your spot? Are all frames built alike?

There are many aspects to a deity frame that position it at the highest level in the industry and they are not due to a marketing campaign or countless dollars spent advertising it. It is about the detail, design, geometry, manufacturing process, and passion that goes into each frame. These are not the “run-of-the-mill” cr-mo frames that are welded, powdercoated, stickered, and sent off to hang on the wall at your local bike shop. There is a lot more that goes into each deity frame…the proof is in the details and the quality of the ride.

The typical production process for “most” frames consists of ordering the raw materials, prepping the tubing for welding, assembly of the frame, a nice layer of powdercoat, application of stickers, and lastly packaged in a brown box with the company’s logo on the side. The amount of actual 100% Post Weld Heat Treated 26” wheel frames on the market can be counted on one hand and the reason is simple, it is extremely expensive, time consuming, complicated, and is one of the short cuts a company will make to get you a frame at a cheap price, regardless of strength.

Until a frame is fully Post Weld Heat Treated, the frame is just multiple tubes with welds holding them together. To unify the frame as a whole, relieve stress areas, and substantially increase the strength of the frame, the Post Weld Heat Treat process is one of the most critical aspects of why our frames are one of the, if not “the”, strongest frames on the market. The process is laborious and consists of two detailed treatment phases where, after the first phase of Post Weld Heat Treatment, every frame is individually mounted, inspected, and hand checked for alignment and accuracy. After any adjustments are made, we enter the second and final phase of Post Weld Heat Treatment, creating one of the strongest frames on the market.

It is not as simple as sending a frame away to be heat treated and then moving forward with production. There are multiple stages, countless hands that touch each frame, digital gauges that check each angle, and production processes that must be delayed until the Post Weld Heat Treat process is finished. It is an amazing stage of production that exemplifies the amount of care and thought put into each frame, insuring you are receiving the best frame money can buy.

What separates one frame from another? The answer is simple and the line of deity frames exemplify why. From our full black E.D finish treatment to prevent rust, the impeccable welds that form the structure of each frame, our comprehensive Post Weld Heat Treatment process, discipline specific geometry, our Lifetime Warranty, our long term testing process of each frame, and so much more…our goal at deity is to deliver you the last frame you will ever need to buy, an experience from the minute you receive the box, a frame built around our unmatched quality standards, and a frame that is tailored to your specific style of riding.
