An expanding young family and no time has finally led me to the painful admission that my beloved and barely used Orange Patriot deserves to go to a better owner.

This is considered by many to be the best model of the Patriot that Orange Mountain Bikes produced. With beefed up gusseting, an improved swingarm and pivot position and the sliding shock shuttle this frame is a work of art and engineering.

I've custom built this bike around the frame as an perfect Enduro bike - a true all mountain ripper that's capable of anything from XC to Freeride. Forget the Alpine 160 and the Five - seriously - with the adjustable geometry and different shuttle lengths this bike can be switch between the geometry of a 5 (current setup), an Alpine 160 and even a mini 224 / 322. I've built it up with the shorter shock shuttle using a Fox float RP2 190mm to match an Orange Five, but slackened the head angle to make it more stable at high speed and descents than a typical 5. The ride is phenomenal.

Spec as follows:
- Orange Patriot 2008 size medium 18" frame in original Orange Factory Lime Green with Maxle rear axle and 2012 decals.
- Fox float RP23 Boost Valve pro pedal 190mm eye to eye rear shock - specifically tuned to the Orange 5
- 2011 Fox Racing Van RC2 Fit 160mm fork
- Hope Tech V2 front and rear brakes with braided hoses and floating buzz saw rotors
- Hope Pro2 gold hubs on Mavic ex729 rims front and rear with DT Swiss spokes
- Hope Gold threadless headset
- Hope Gold QR seatpost clamp
- Thomson Elite seatpost
- Thomson Elite Stem
- Shimano XT crank arms
- Race Face Diabolus bashguard double ring
- Blackspire Stinger chain tensioner
- SRAM x7 rear mech and shifters
- Nukeproof bars
- Panaracer Cinder 2.25 tyres (hardly used)
- PDW (Portland Design Works) ergonomic grips

Supplied saddle will be SDG black in decent but used condition.

Everything on the bike is in perfect working order and overall brilliant cosmetic condition - a few minor scratches, mainly to the stickers, commensurate with very light use. The frame bearings are silly smooth, the rear shock holds air with no leaks and provides a plush ride. The forks are the RC2 FIT van version - totally reliable and beautifully progressive travel. The forks have a few cosmetic scratches to lowers and a bit of crown rub all of which I've tried to photograph. Importantly the stanchions are immaculate with absolutely no signs of wear, etc. Seals are tip top too. This is the patented Fox QR bolt through version.

This is a UK sale and collection only - I genuinely won't have the time to carefully package up the bike as I'd like to be transported. It's a beautiful bike and a powerful ride.

Please don't waste time with silly offers though I'm happy to consider near and sensible offers to the asking price. Either payment in full or a PayPal deposit will be required within 24 hrs of the auction ending and collection with cash or remaining balance within 5 days. Please contact me with any queries or if you require further information or photos.

This bike is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Please see my other items, including a Boardman Team R Urban bike for sale too. It's a sad week for me! Cheers.
