1993 Klein Rascal

This is a fantastic 1993 Klein Rascal.( The original name for this model was Top Gun, but after Paramount threatened a lawsuit because of the movie, Klein reluctantly changed the name to Rascal) One of the famous Gary Klein bikes handmade in Chehalis, WA before the company was sold to Trek. Bike is the XL frame. Measured from bottom bracket to top of seat post is 22". Stand over height of the cross tube just in front of the seat is 32.5". Goes up to 35.5" by the handlebars. Top tube is 24" and the wheel base is 43.5". Ground clearance to bottom bracket is 12.5"! I'm 6' and like large framed bikes. This bike fits me well with the seat post low. It would easily fit someone up to 6'4" or so. . Beautiful original Candy Blue paint job that Klein was famous for. Frame is in great shape with shiny paint. Notice there is no chain suck! Pedals are cage pedals and the seat, shown in the later photos, is a brand new Phorm S310 seat.Bike has a newer Marzocchi Bomber front suspension fork, and I replaced the rear 12-28 cassette with a Shimano 11-34 for easier climbing ability. I can include the original cassette with purchase. I also have the owners manual for the front fork. New Shimano V brake "brifters" make for easy shifting and braking. All Deore components. Deore XT seat post. Lizard Skins grips and brake lever covers. This is an iconic bike from a great American manufacturer. I love the bike, but at my age I don't do it justice. It needs to be ridden! Tires are brand new Michelin Country Dry 26 X 2.0.. Bike sold for $1895 when new and has been well maintained. Thanks! Bike needs to be picked up in Southern Oregon. Because of my age and back, I'm looking for a more "comfort" framed bike. If you have a Dual sport or Cannondale Adventure, Giant Sedona DX or comparable upright style bike, I would be interested in a trade.
