these guys are rude. i had them warranty my rockshox reverb dropper seat post. the new post came in on time and they installed it. i came to pick up my bike and they hadnt even shortened the hydraulic hose. they also tried to charge me $40 to install the thing when they hadnt completed the install. i tiold them to keep the bike and finish the job. i came back a while later when they said the bike was done, and this time they wanted to charge me $60 for the second install. i also work at a bike shop in california and i was appalled by the quality of service i recieved. it should also be said that a complete install should cost no more than $20. i would not reccommend this shop to anyone.

Bangtail is a great shop. They've maintained my 2005 Trek 2100 for years for me as well as helped me build up a 650B townie out of a 1991 GT Tachyon and a crapload of spare parts. Add to that building a custom set of wheels for a new Salsa El Mariachi build and Bangtail is my go-to bike shop in town.
Bike fits with Amber are fantastic, too.
Also, the crew is happy to geek out with me on the minutae of bikes and bike parts, too.

I've dealt with Bangtail for 15 years and they are fair, knowledgable, and do a great job. They go above and beyond to help get their main suppliers to warrantee stuff well after the warranty expires. They've given me better deals on bikes and skis than I could get on the internet and they stand behind stuff they sell. Don't listen to some one off crank who didn't communicate what he wanted to them.

a solid OK. not nearly as good as when Chris and Al ran the place. But one of the better shops for measuring sitbones and saddle shopping. They have come through a few time looking for small unique parts when I have done several frame up builds.

It's a shame the only specialized dealer in the area does such a shitty job
